Job description

What Aphex does

Aphex is the execution platform for major construction projects, the connected system where teams plan their upcoming work, coordinate their day-to-day, and capture the daily record. Everything draws from the same live plan.

Major contractors like Acciona, CPB Contractors, John Holland, and McConnell Dowell use Aphex to deliver projects from £50 million to multi-billion pound mega projects. We're market-leading in Australia and the United Kingdom, supporting teams building the roads, rail, tunnels, and hospitals that millions use every day.

The Role

Your mission: help us build Diary, our production tracking and record capture product, and grow into owning feature delivery end to end.

Diary isn't another site diary. We're rethinking how construction teams capture and mobilise what actually happened on site: records connected to the live plan rather than siloed, low-friction capture rather than rigid forms, and AI woven through so recording is easier and insight surfaces on its own. A lot of it lives on mobile, out on site.

We've spent the last 18 months piloting and refining Diary. It's now live with enterprise clients who are getting real value from it, the feedback has been strong, and there's still plenty of ground to cover. You'd join the dedicated team early, staying close to users and adapting the product to how they actually work, alongside the Product Leader for Diary and a development team based in the Philippines.

What You'll Do

  • Own feature delivery (with support to start): help take features from discovery through quality assurance to launch, write clear specifications, spot blockers early, and hold the quality bar

  • Stay close to the user: work with our customer teams and users to understand how sites actually work, and turn that into features worth building

  • Work across the team: you're the connective tissue between design, engineering, and our customer-facing teams (Customer Experience and Customer Success). You run the day-to-day rhythms that keep everyone aligned across timezones, manage the dependencies your work touches, and muck in wherever it's needed, including manual quality assurance

You could be a great fit if

  • You've got around 1 to 2 years in a product role, or you're coming from something adjacent like quality assurance, delivery, or project management, with the instincts to grow into product fast

  • You've helped ship something end to end and understand what it takes to get it over the line

  • You've got a real eye for detail and start from what the user actually needs

  • You're a clear, direct communicator

  • You love getting deep into how a complex product works

  • You're grounded but not dogmatic about textbook product practice, curious about what to keep and what to adapt

  • You're up for experimenting with how we build, AI-led or otherwise

Bonus points for mobile product experience, or a background in construction technology, B2B SaaS, or productivity tools.

You'll need to be based in Australia. If this sounds like your kind of thing, we'd love to hear from you.
