As a Senior Tax Accountant on our Fund Tax Compliance team, you'll own the partnership tax compliance cycle for a portfolio of private funds — preparing workpapers for complex allocations, book-to-tax adjustments, and capital account maintenance. You will perform critical reviews of Form 1065 filings and investor K-1s to ensure absolute accuracy. This role suits an experienced partnership tax professional who wants engagement ownership and a path toward management.
Assist in the review of U.S. partnership income tax returns (Form 1065), investor Schedule K-1s, and supporting workpapers for investment funds and management companies.
Own complex partnership tax work, including aggregate and special allocations, waterfall and carried-interest calculations, book-to-tax differences, and capital account maintenance.
Own the end-to-end tax deliverables for assigned funds, including managing K-1 delivery timelines and overall quality.
Manage filing calendars, extensions, and deliverable timelines across multiple funds to ensure on-time, penalty-free filing.
Research partnership tax issues and document positions clearly for internal review.
Coordinate with fund accounting teams, external auditors, and onboarding teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Mentor and train associates and interns; contribute to workflow and quality improvements.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2–3 years of partnership tax experience in public accounting, fund administration, or a comparable environment.
A professional accounting qualification — CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA), Enrolled Agent (EA), or local equivalent — or clear progress toward one (strongly preferred).
Hands-on knowledge of partnership taxation, Form 1065, Schedule K-1 preparation and review, and tax allocations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly, both in writing and to colleagues.
Strong review skills and the judgment to identify and resolve issues before deliverables are finalized.
Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities across multiple engagements during busy season.
Advanced Excel; proficiency with professional tax software.
Experience across private equity, venture capital, real estate, and/or hedge fund structures.
Experience with tax software such as GoSystem or CCH Axcess and fund administration platforms.
Exposure to SALT, international information reporting (Forms 8621, 1042), or investor withholding.
Compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $80,000-95,000 USD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
