Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (Remote)

Job Summary

We are looking for an AU Virtual Quantity Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and purchase orders for Australian construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience in Australian construction estimating, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

    • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope and requirements.
    • Complete accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and schedules.
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive quotations.
    • Ensure quotations comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, and company requirements.
    • Identify project risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for value engineering.
    • Liaise with customers, suppliers, Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management to obtain technical and commercial information.
    • Respond to customer enquiries and provide technical and pricing support.
    • Maintain accurate estimating records, quotation revisions, and documentation.
    • Support project handover by providing complete estimating and scope information for awarded projects.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, pricing tools, and product knowledge.
    • Comply with company HSEQ policies and maintain confidentiality of commercial information.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Quantity Estimator, preferably supporting Australian construction projects
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings and plans.
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating and cost analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with Australian builders or contractors is an advantage.
