BUSINESS SYSTEMS & DATA ANALYST

Job Summary

The Business Systems & Data Analyst serves as a key liaison between enterprise business operations and core systems such as JAMIS ERP, ADP, and other enterprise platforms.  This role focuses on understanding business processes, database schemas, and application logic to ensure system configuration, reporting, and integrations align with operational and compliance requirements.  The Analyst supports enterprise transformation and modernization initiatives by translating business requirements into effective system and data solutions. As a member of the transformation team, this role is also expected to bring familiarity with emerging AI-enabled business capabilities, including experience evaluating, supporting, or integrating AI/ML tools and automation solutions into enterprise workflows to improve efficiency, insight, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business workflows and map requirements to system functionality within JAMIS ERP, ADP, and related enterprise applications
• Interpret database schemas, relationships, and embedded business rules across enterprise systems
• Partner with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business and system requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes through AI-assisted workflows, predictive insights, and automation while maintaining governance, security, and compliance requirements
• Translate business needs into functional and technical documentation
• Support data validation, reconciliation, and reporting consistency across systems
• Support evaluation, implementation, or integration of AI/ML tools, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled analytics within business systems and transformation initiatives
• Assist with system enhancements, integrations, and modernization initiatives
• Ensure alignment between business logic, system configuration, and compliance requirements
• Serve as a subject matter resource for cross-functional teams implementing process and system improvements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
• 4+ years experience acting as a Business Systems Analyst or comparable role on one or more enterprise systems, either internally or for a customer
• Strong understanding of database concepts, schemas, and business logic
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience working with, supporting, or integrating AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, or intelligent data solutions in a business environment
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government secret security clearance
• If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience supporting enterprise system modernization or transformation efforts
• Familiarity with government contracting, compliance, or audit environments
• Experience supporting system integrations and data reporting initiatives
• Experience working in cross-functional business and technology teams
• Experience with AI integrations, intelligent automation, machine learning-enabled platforms, or enterprise AI tools used to enhance business processes, reporting, or decision support
• Experience evaluating and applying AI/ML tools in a governed, secure, and compliance-conscious environment
• 4+ Experience working with ERP, HR, payroll, or financial systems such as JAMIS, ADP, or similar platforms
