Job description

Overheard University Campus Correspondent Program:

We’re recruiting a handful of college students to join our Campus Correspondent program and come dish the dirt on the hyper-specific shared experience of your school.

If you always know what’s going on, can get strangers to spill their hot takes, and want to be the face of your campus for Overheard this is for you.

What you'll do:

  • Create 3 short-form videos per month capturing the funniest and most relatable parts of college life
  • Create a mix of street interviews, talk-to-camera videos, campus vlogs, static content, and written posts using prompts from our content calendar
  • Report on campus trends, traditions, and major events to help shape future content planning

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Comfortable on camera and confident approaching strangers for interviews
  • Experienced filming and editing TikToks or Reels
  • Deeply tapped into your campus culture and stereotypes
  • Reliable, creative, and funny

How to apply:

Video Portion
Submit a 30–60 second video speaking directly to the camera convincing someone why they should (or shouldn't) attend your school.

Written Portion

  • What year are you in?
  • What is your major?
  • What clubs, organizations, or extracurricular activities are you involved in?
  • What does a typical weekend look like for you at your school?
  • How would you describe the stereotypical student at your school?
  • What types of campus events, traditions, or moments would you want to cover as a part of the Campus Correspondent Program?

College Credit

As a heads up, should we bring you on as correspondent, we’ll need to work with your school/university to determine a path to college credit. That will be sorted out as a final step.
