IT Security Consultant – Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR)

This is a remote position.

We have a contract role open for an experienced IT Security Consultant specialising in Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR). In this position, you will take on a key role in identifying, analysing, and mitigating complex security incidents while ensuring compliance with major regulatory frameworks. This is a freelance contract with a public sector end client. 

Fluent English and a minimum of B2 German language skills are a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical analysis, containment, and eradication of critical IT security incidents.
  

• Conduct thorough digital forensic investigations across networks, operating systems, and diverse corporate environments.
  

• Utilise specialised security and forensic tools to reconstruct security events and identify root causes.
  

• Ensure all incident response activities and documentation align with international standards and compliance regulations.
  

• Participate in a standby/on-call rotation to ensure rapid response to critical security events.
