Job Description

About The Position 

KIPP Foundation's Data & Technology team is working toward a future where leaders across the network have seamless, secure, and equitable access to the data they need to drive student success. The Manager of Regional Data Operations plays a key role in delivering on that vision by executing and continuously improving the data and assessment operations that enable a reliable flow of high-quality data for national initiatives and organizational decision-making.

Working closely with the Director of Regional Data Operations, this role owns day-to-day implementation of assessment builds, regional readiness operations, and data compliance workflows. The Manager is a hands-on executor who brings operational excellence, systems thinking, continuous improvement, and collaboration to high-volume, detail-oriented work.

This role reports to the Director of Regional Data Operations.

Responsibilities 

Data Operations for National Initiatives

  • Own hands-on execution of a portion of KIPP's annual common assessment development roadmap within Renaissance (Illuminate) DnA, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to strong quality standards
  • Build, update, and duplicate assessments with a high degree of accuracy, publish to regions in alignment with the annual calendar, and troubleshoot system issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain and improve auditing and validation processes to proactively ensure high-quality data in downstream reporting
  • Execute beginning-of-year assessment readiness protocols, including sending communications, tracking training attendance, and monitoring assessment windows
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation, resources, and professional development materials to support consistent regional execution across administration windows
  • Serve as a point of contact for regional staff, responding to questions and providing guidance on assessment operations
  • Collect inputs and gather feedback from regions, vendors, and national stakeholders to support coordinated execution, timely data reporting, and continuous improvement of resources and processes

Vendor Management & Data Collection

  • Support relationships with a portfolio of academic and non-academic vendors, staying up to date on service changes and ensuring stakeholder awareness (e.g. College Board, ACT, NWEA, and others)
  • Partner with Data & Analytics teammates to investigate data quality issues in vendor submissions, identify root causes, and implement or recommend improvements to strengthen data accuracy and reliability
  • Monitor vendor contracting processes, ensuring regions complete required purchase orders as part of operational readiness at the beginning of the year

Data Compliance, Privacy & Governance

  • Coordinate across vendors and regional stakeholders to ensure timely completion of data-sharing requirements, including tracking and securing required agreements
  • Coordinate the processing of staff data access requests, ensuring appropriate approvals and adherence to organizational data privacy and security policies
  • Support the execution of organization-wide training on data privacy, security, and responsible data use

  • Problem Solving: Generates solutions outside of their direct work and shrinks problems to solve independently. Shows initiative in generating and recommending ideas and solutions within their own workstreams. Anticipates risks and develops proactive solutions that support their team.
  • Collaboration: Leads successful stakeholder management, accounting for varied perspectives when gathering feedback. Builds coalition by prioritizing end-user experiences. Builds trusting relationships and effective communications. Able to identify and remove barriers to working across teams.

Experience & Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated ownership of operational execution, process development, and data quality in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Hands-on experience with Renaissance (Illuminate) DnA, including assessment builds, platform administration, and data management
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy, especially under tight timelines
  • Experience developing operational documentation, including process guides, training materials, and system documentation

Preferred

  • Experience in K-12 education or adjacent roles working directly with school or district stakeholders
  • Experience with assessment coordination or program management

Additional Information

Work Conditions 

  • Travel requirements: Basic Travel Expectations: Up to 5% (up to 10 days per year) 

  • Job Type: Full time, Exempt 

Location 

It is preferred, but not mandatory for this role to be based out of a KIPP Foundation office. This role has the option of working from a remote office full-time. KIPP Foundation offices are in NYC and Chicago. 

Compensation and Benefits 

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, and relevant experience. The salary range for this position is $83,200-$99,000 In addition, KIPP Foundation provides a variety of benefits to employees, including:  

  • 25 holidays for + 18 days additional flexible PTO days (flexible PTO increases to 23 days for years 3 and 4 and to 28 days for years 5+). 

  • 100% paid parental leave 

  • 100% coverage of the premium for employee and 75% for employee + family’s medical/dental/vision plans.
