Job description

About Neura:

Neura Health is a nationwide, doctor-led practice built to eliminate the barriers between patients and life-changing care. As the country's leading virtual neurology clinic, we provide an all-in-one longitudinal platform where cutting-edge technology meets specialized expertise to manage the entire spectrum of neurological diseases. While traditional brick-and-mortar clinics are at a breaking point, forcing patients to endure dangerous 4-6 month wait times, Neura is scaling the nation’s largest virtual practice to deliver immediate access to the 145 million Americans in need. Through strategic partnerships with leading health systems, pharmaceutical innovators, and large clinics, as well as a direct-to-patient model, we are fundamentally transforming the referral landscape and reducing average wait time from 276 days to 5 days.

Our tech-enabled model provides a comprehensive, end-to-end experience that goes far beyond a standard consultation. We offer patients seamless access to personalized care plans and expert care navigation, ensuring no one has to manage their journey alone. This mission is powered by our multidisciplinary specialized care teams, which include world-class physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and dedicated care coaches. We leverage AI-powered workflow optimization and continuous monitoring for everything from chronic headaches and epilepsy to complex memory disorders. Backed by $22M in funding from world-class investors, we are not just improving neurology; we are revolutionizing it. We are looking for purpose-driven innovators to join us in making high-quality brain health a reality for everyone.

About the Role

Neura Health is seeking an experienced, board-certified Neurologist to support our growing personal injury and medical-legal division. In this role, you'll conduct independent neurological evaluations for patients involved in personal injury claims — including motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, and slip-and-fall cases — and produce clear, defensible medical-legal documentation. This is a flexible, telehealth-based opportunity ideal for a neurologist who wants to apply their clinical expertise to the medical-legal space, with the autonomy of a 1099 contract structure and the ability to build a caseload around your schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive telehealth neurological evaluations for patients involved in personal injury claims (MVAs, workplace injuries, slip-and-falls, and related trauma)
  • Perform independent medical examinations (IMEs) and thorough reviews of medical records, imaging, and prior treatment history
  • Author detailed, well-substantiated medical-legal reports addressing diagnosis, causation, prognosis, permanency, and treatment recommendations
  • Provide expert opinions and, when needed, deposition or testimony support for attorneys, insurers, or case managers
  • Diagnose and evaluate trauma-related neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-concussive syndrome, whiplash-associated disorders, and cervical/spinal injury
  • Collaborate with referring attorneys, adjusters, and Neura's clinical and care coordination teams to ensure timely, high-quality evaluations
  • Maintain meticulous, litigation-ready documentation in accordance with legal and clinical standards
  • Stay current on evolving standards of care and evidentiary requirements relevant to personal injury neurology

Requirements

  • MD or DO with board certification in Neurology; active, unrestricted Texas state medical license (multi-state license a plus)
  • Experience evaluating and treating trauma-related neurological conditions (TBI, concussion, whiplash, spinal injury)
  • Prior experience conducting independent medical examinations (IMEs), medical-legal evaluations, or expert witness work strongly preferred
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, objective, and legally sound reports
  • Comfortable practicing via telehealth and using EMR/documentation platforms
  • Willingness to provide deposition testimony or courtroom appearances as needed
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to render objective, unbiased medical opinions

Mindset & Approach

  • High ownership mentality—you proactively identify problems and take initiative to solve them
  • Collaborative and low-ego; you build trust quickly across teams and lead without formal authority
  • Deeply mission-driven and excited about shaping the future of healthcare
  • Ready to roll up your sleeves and jump in wherever needed—no task too big or small
  • Comfortable operating with objectivity and precision in a medical-legal context

Bonus Points

  • Prior experience as a retained expert witness or IME provider for insurers, law firms, or third-party administrators
  • Fellowship training or subspecialty certification in brain injury medicine, pain medicine, or neurorehabilitation
  • Familiarity with personal injury protocol (PIP), workers' compensation, or no-fault insurance frameworks
  • Experience testifying in depositions or at trial
  • Licensure in multiple states

Logistics

  • Location: Fully Remote (US)
  • Schedule: Must be able to dedicate at least 8 hours of patient-facing availability per week
  • CME: $500 annual stipend after 6 months of work
  • Compensation:
    • $240/hr for personal injury appointments
    • $160/hr; per appointment for all other hours

You’ll thrive here if you have an unwavering curiosity to do right by the patient and you’re energized by delivering a radically better patient experience, not incremental improvement. You’ll be surrounded by a highly committed, humble, and inspiring team that challenges each other directly, supports each other deeply, and gets better every week. If you want real responsibility, real velocity, and the chance to build something transformative from the ground up, this is the place for you.
