Compliance Investigator (m/w/d)

 

Our Compliance Investigations of WIRTGEN GROUP team helps foster a culture of integrity by conducting fair, objective, and confidential investigations into reported concerns. Partnering closely with Legal, HR, Audit, and Compliance, we identify risks, support remediation efforts, and strengthen trust in our reporting channels.

In addition to the gross monthly salary, the salary for this position (full-time) consists of various special payments. Depending on your experience, you can expect an annual starting salary of between 6,930​and ​10,394 EUR in this position.

 

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and support internal investigations involving alleged violations of company policy, law, or ethical standards, including fraud, conflicts of interest, workplace misconduct, and regulatory concerns
  • Gather and analyze information from multiple sources to determine facts, support evidence-based findings, and develop investigative plans, including scope, witness identification, use of data analytics, and evidence collection strategies
  • Conduct interviews, document findings, and draft clear, well-supported investigative reports and summaries while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Manage and track assigned cases, including intake and triage of reports from reporting channels, ensuring proper documentation, workflow management, data integrity, and alignment with applicable regional requirements
  • Identify trends and risks and contribute to remediation recommendations, including control enhancements and process improvements by supporting reporting, metrics and dashboards
  • Support global and cross-border investigations, while collaborating with Legal, HR, Audit, Compliance, Work Council and other subject matter experts
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR, regional whistleblower requirements, and labor/Works Council obligations
  • Assist with training, communications, and compliance initiatives, promoting a speak-up, non-retaliation culture by strengthening awareness of ethics, reporting mechanisms, and trust in reporting channels

 

What Skills You Need:

  • 7+ years of investigations, compliance, employee relations, HR, security, audit, legal, or related experience 
  • Knowledge of EU Whistleblower Directive and UK whistleblowing requirements 
  • Familiarity with GDPR, anti-bribery/anti-corruption regulations, and global compliance frameworks 
  • Experience working within multinational or highly matrixed organizations 
  • Understanding of Works Council considerations in investigations and hotline/reporting processes 
  • Experience supporting or conducting cross-border investigations 
  • Experience leveraging technology and data analytics in investigations 

 

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Multiple years of experience in handling complex workplace, compliance, fraud, or ethics investigations
  • Qualification to practice law in Germany or another European jurisdiction
  • Proficiency in an additional European language
  • Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to effectively manage complexity while maintaining high standards of quality, accountability

 

Education:

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level in Law or related field

This exempt position is based in Windhagen and available to immediate start.
