Job description

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a Material Planner. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating program material. In this role, you will support the corporate manufacturing and development operations. This is a remote position responsible for supporting internal customers in the acquisition and tracking of raw materials, with periodic visits to the Syracuse office as business needs require. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, motivated, work well with a team, and be able to manage internal relationships. This role reports directly to the Supervisor for Material Planning.

What You’ll Do:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate material procurement plans for deliveries of raw material, component piece parts, and assembled items for assigned programs in support of program material plans and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare, maintain, and present program status information to program management and other appropriate personnel. 
  • Monitor and update program inventory status to prevent material shortages.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions, quote requests or material transfers in response to changes in net material requirements.
  • Assist in development, coordination and monitoring of build plans and workflow activities to ensure schedules are completed within delivery parameters.
  • Interface with various departments to resolve or minimize build schedule interruptions.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to utilize tools like material trackers, program and management dashboard, KPIs, etc.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management, bills of material, MRP /ERP systems
  • Proficient with MS office applications – advanced knowledge of Excel required.

  • Ability to effectively communicate the elements of the planning process to management.
  • Ability to find root cause and resolution with planning issues.  
  • Must be able to organize and manage multiple, changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated analytical ability.

  • Must have meeting facilitation skills – initiate material meetings, take actions, prepare material part summaries for program teams, publish minutes actions and summaries
  • B.S. degree in supply chain management, business, or manufacturing and 2 years of planning or related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience can be used in lieu of noted degree and experience.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $60,000 to $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
