Job description

The database market is massive and MongoDB is at the head of its disruption. The MongoDB community is transforming industries and empowering developers to build amazing apps that people use every day. We are the leading modern data platform and the first database provider to IPO in over 20 years. Join our team and be at the forefront of innovation and creativity.

We are looking for a Manager / Senior Manager, Sales Strategy & Planning to lead our EMEA Strategy & Planning function. This role sits within our broader Sales Operations organization and serves as a critical business partner to EMEA Sales leadership, helping our field teams move faster, operate with more rigor, and unlock growth.

This person will act as the strategic thought partner and operational counterpart to the SVP of EMEA. You will lead a regional Strategy & Planning team, own the operating rhythm of the business, and translate strategy into execution across planning, performance management, organizational design, forecasting, and high-priority initiatives. This is an opportunity to embed yourself as the “COO” of the EMEA business while building the structure, insights, and team capabilities that help the region scale.\

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.

The role

As the Senior Manager, Sales Strategy & Planning - EMEA, you will

  • Serve as the primary Strategy & Planning business partner to the SVP of EMEA, helping shape priorities, drive decisions, and ensure execution against the region’s most important business goals
  • Lead and develop the EMEA Strategy & Planning team, setting priorities, coaching talent, and creating a high-accountability, high-trust team environment
  • Own the analytical rhythm of the EMEA business, including QBRs, MBRs, org deep dives, leadership reviews, and performance readouts
  • Drive annual and quarterly planning for EMEA, including headcount planning, productivity analysis, budget partnership, and execution against key milestones
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Sales Ops, Analytics, Compensation, and other GTM stakeholders to align assumptions, timelines, and operating mechanisms across the region
  • Turn complex data and business signals into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leaders
  • Identify process gaps, organizational friction, and scaling opportunities, then design and implement pragmatic solutions that improve how the EMEA business runs
  • Help define success metrics, operating cadences, and management mechanisms that allow EMEA leadership to stay close to performance and ahead of risk

What you’ll do

Partner the business

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the SVP of EMEA and extended leadership team on business performance, organizational health, growth opportunities, and execution risk
  • Provide market, segment, and customer insights that help leadership make better decisions faster
  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous business questions and convert them into practical action plans
  • Support leadership forums with high-quality agendas, pre-reads, analyses, and follow-through

Lead the EMEA Strategy & Planning team

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Strategy & Planning professionals supporting the EMEA business
  • Set clear priorities and operating expectations for the team across recurring cadences and strategic projects
  • Create career development opportunities, raise the bar on analytical quality, and build a strong team culture
  • Ensure the team is operating as an integrated extension of the EMEA leadership team rather than a separate support function

Own planning and operating rhythm

  • Lead the regional planning calendar across annual planning, quarterly reviews, budget checkpoints, territory and headcount decisions, and leadership reviews
  • Drive end-to-end execution of major planning workstreams, ensuring strong coordination across stakeholders and timely decision-making
  • Track milestones, risks, dependencies, and decisions, escalating where needed to keep execution on track
  • Standardize templates, definitions, and business review materials where consistency will improve regional execution

Drive insight and execution

  • Build and synthesize analyses that connect business performance to actions on coverage, segmentation, productivity, investment, and organizational design
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics to develop simple, executive-ready views of business performance and tradeoffs
  • Use data storytelling to shape leadership discussions and influence action
  • Pilot and operationalize new programs, mechanisms, and process improvements that improve sales productivity and business performance

Who you are

Experience & background

  • Manager level: 5+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, Consulting, Analytics, Finance, or a similar strategic business role
  • Senior Manager level: 7+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, Consulting, or similar Strategy & Planning roles, with a track record of leading complex cross-functional workstreams
  • Experience supporting senior sales or GTM leaders in a business partner capacity
  • Experience leading or developing direct reports and building strong team operating practices
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience with regional or global planning motions is strongly preferred

Skills & mindset

  • You know what makes sales teams thrive and can connect strategy, operations, and execution in a practical way
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, and you are comfortable managing multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders at once
  • You are an excellent communicator who can move between analytical detail and executive-level storytelling
  • You are comfortable challenging assumptions, surfacing risks, and influencing decisions with data and judgment
  • You thrive in ambiguity and can turn loose problem statements into structured plans and outcomes
  • You have a strong bias for action and ownership and are known for making things happen, not just tracking them
  • You are a strong people leader who can coach, develop, and motivate a team while maintaining a high bar for quality and execution

Tools & technical

  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets and comfort working with data to support business decisions
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and related reporting / CRM workflows
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills; SQL experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience with planning, project management, or workflow tools is helpful but not required
