Job description

Experienced post-editors for Weekends and Nights (Eastern Standard Time)

Type: Freelance / Remote  
Location: Multiple Time Zones
Hours:

  • Weekends from Friday 5pm - Monday 7am (Eastern Standard Time)  
  • Evenings and Overnights (Eastern Standard Time)

We are seeking experienced English (US) to Spanish (US) Medical Post-Editors with strong expertise in medical terminology and patient-facing healthcare content, such as After Visit Summaries (AVS) and related clinical communications.

Responsibilities

  • Review and refine machine-translated content from English (US) into Spanish (US)
  • Improve accuracy, fluency, and overall quality of MT
  • Ensure final text reads naturally, as if originally written by a native speaker
  • Deliver high-quality work within fast turnaround times

Requirements: 

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • A degree in translation, linguistics or language studies or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training, from a recognized institution of higher education; or 
  • a degree in any other field from a recognized institution of higher education and has the equivalent of two years of full-time professional experience in translating; or
  • the equivalent of five years of full-time professional experience in translating. 
Additional requirements:
  • Bilingual proficiency in English (US) and Spanish (US) (native Spanish preferred)
  • Strong localization skills and cultural knowledge of both source and target languages
  • Experience with medical terminology in the US market (patient-facing content such as AVS)
  • Experience in post-editing machine translation (MT) and/or localization
  • Familiarity with MT and LLM technologies
  • Proficiency in CAT tools, especially memoQ

Skills: 

  • Experience evaluating post-edited content
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Fluency, naturalness, accuracy, and coherence in post-edited texts
    • Raw MT output evaluation, including error identification, post-editing effort, and turnaround time
  • Additional language proficiency is an asset.
