Job description

How do I know if this job is a good fit for me?

  • You wish to work in an environment where colleagues are professional, good at what they do, funny, supportive, and focused on product development instead of playing mind games.

  • You are independent, self-directed, and value works allow you to be creative.

  • You want to keep your industry's knowledge ahead of the market.

  • You breathe digital and yearn for an environment of like-minded people

Congratulations! You just found the right place.

What is In Marketing We Trust all about?

We're a technical performance marketing agency, and we exist to solve tough problems in marketing. We bring an engineering mindset to complex marketing situations to deliver a scalable performance that generates an exponential return on investment.

Trust is in our name and is our guiding principle. To deliver on our purpose, we will conduct our business by the following Code of Ethics:

  • Build trust through every interaction with every person

  • Always deliver in the best interest of our clients

  • Invest in the success of every team member

  • Build long-term relationships with our partners

Delivering these foundational codes will fund our continued growth while providing a fair return for shareholders.

What is the internal culture like?

Let's hear from our employees on why they chose to join and stay:

  • A good management team creates growth opportunities, embodies company values, and understands people's pain points.

  • A nice, dedicated, supportive (and funny) team with years of experience, therefore, really good at what they're doing.

  • Flexibility in working hours, working location, no micromanaging, and you can take full ownership of your work.

  • No politics, no bullsh!t.

  • Very good processes, clear expectations.

About the Role

You will play a key role in driving organic growth for a variety of clients within the agency. You’ll be responsible for designing and executing SEO strategies tailored to client objectives, optimising web properties, and leveraging automation to improve efficiency. Your role will blend technical expertise, data-driven insights, and creative problem-solving to enhance search visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms.

Our clients are large enterprise companies, often multinational, with complex technical challenges and extensive website structures, some exceeding one million pages. This requires a deep understanding of large-scale SEO strategies, automation, and advanced technical problem-solving to ensure optimal search performance.

Beyond SEO execution, you will have a strong understanding of how SEO fits within the broader digital marketing ecosystem, ensuring that strategies are aligned with wider business and marketing goals, including paid media, content marketing, PR, and conversion optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement SEO strategies aligned with clients’ business goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Lead full-cycle SEO initiatives, from technical improvements to content optimisation and link-building strategies.

  • Identify opportunities for automation to streamline SEO processes, such as technical audits, reporting, and content recommendations.

Technical SEO & Site Optimisation

  • Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits to identify issues inhibiting organic search performance.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to website architecture, internal linking structures, page speed, structured data, and crawl efficiency.

  • Leverage automation and AI-powered tools for ongoing site monitoring, audits, and data analysis.

  • Ensure proper implementation of schema markup, canonical tags, hreflang attributes, and other technical SEO elements.

On-Page & Content Optimisation

  • Perform keyword research and intent analysis to guide content creation and improve targeting.

  • Develop advanced on-page strategies, incorporating AI-driven content generation, semantic optimisation, and entity-based keyword clustering.

  • Work closely with content teams to provide detailed SEO briefs, ensuring alignment with E-E-A-T principles and user intent.

  • Optimise metadata, headings, internal linking structures, and content for improved rankings and visibility.

Off-Page SEO & Authority Building

  • Conduct backlink profile analysis and develop strategies to enhance domain authority.

  • Coordinate digital PR and outreach campaigns to acquire high-quality, relevant links.

  • Monitor brand mentions and opportunities for authoritative placements across AI-curated knowledge sources and traditional SERPs.

Competitive & Market Analysis

  • Research and analyse competitors’ SEO strategies, content, and backlink profiles to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, algorithm updates, and emerging AI-driven search landscapes.

Reporting, Analytics & Performance Monitoring

  • Track and analyse key SEO metrics, including organic traffic, rankings, conversions, and engagement.

  • Present in-depth findings, insights, and strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders on a regular basis.

  • Contribute to and present Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), leveraging data to drive forward-looking SEO strategies.

Who You Are

  • An experienced SEO professional with at least 5-7 years in SEO and 2 years of recent agency experience, with a proven track record of delivering results across various industries.

  • Strong experience in handling large websites (with more than 100,000 pages)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Using OpenAI or similar platforms to work smarter, not harder.

  • Comfortable working with SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, OpenAI, Gemini and AI-driven SEO platforms.

  • Proactive, innovative, and eager to stay ahead of evolving SEO trends, including AI-powered search and emerging search platforms.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex SEO concepts to clients and internal teams.

  • A strategic thinker who understands how SEO contributes to the overall marketing mix and business growth.
