Job Description:
Role Overview
The Technical Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing readiness, quality execution, and operational excellence across internal teams and global contract manufacturing partners. This role ensures successful New Product Introduction ramp, production readiness, and consistent product quality through structured processes aligned with APQP and advanced manufacturing frameworks.
The position requires strong cross-functional leadership, working closely with engineering, supply chain, quality, and contract manufacturers to ensure product designs are effectively transitioned into scalable, high-quality manufacturing operations.
Develop quality control plans and maintain product specifications for manufacturing operations.
Executed NPI production ramp up and approval process as per Fluence internal procedures (APQP).
Develop acceptance criteria for APQP projects and coordinate test run operations on site.
Perform technical evaluations and reports for NPI test runs, supplier/contract manufacturer audits and root cause investigation support.
Assist Fluence test engineers in the design and facilitation of manufacturing end of line test plans.
Support PFMEA reviews for new products with process engineering team and horizontally apply lessons learned back into quality control plans.
Consult with compliance SMEs and maintain factory certification for contract manufacturing operations.
Map existing workflows and drive continuous improvement initiatives to standardize and streamline manufacturing processes.
Work with Fluence operations engineers to identify cost down activities and implement at regional contract manufacturers.
Develop standard operational procedures for manufacturing assembly processes.
Preferred BS engineering degree or related technical field.
5+ years quality manufacturing experience
Knowledge of ISO standards, management of certification
Experience in basic SPC principles (automated MFG is a plus)
Has demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement, lean, 5S concepts.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Focus Excel), ERP, Quality Management and databases.
Experience in Six Sigma philosophy
