Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

  JOB PURPOSE

The Field Medical Manager (FMM) is a pivotal scientific and clinical resource for Zoetis India for our Companion Animal segment across North and East India. As Zoetis expands its companion animal therapy portfolio, the FMM serves as the cornerstone that establishes new therapy areas, builds enduring relationships with the veterinary community, and translates medical strategy into tangible value for veterinary professionals and their patients.

The FMM partners closely with field sales colleagues, marketing, and global/regional medical teams to deliver unparalleled technical support, drive KOL engagement, foster academic partnerships, and build the scientific credibility of the Zoetis brand across the assigned territory.

  CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Medical Leadership

  • Contribute to the design of the medical strategy for India's companion animal segment, ensuring regional insights from North & East India inform national direction.
  • Translate medical strategy into tactical execution plans; serve as the accountable field leader for implementation within the assigned territory.
  • Serve as the scientific pivot for all new therapy area launches introduced by Zoetis in the companion animal space.
  • Maintain a current, expert-level understanding of market dynamics, competitor landscape, disease prevalence, and emerging clinical guidelines; interpret trends and surface opportunities for the Zoetis portfolio.
  • Function as the lead technical representative for all medico-marketing projects in the designated geography.

KOL & Academic Engagement

  • Plan, develop, and execute comprehensive Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategies aligned with current and upcoming product developments and launches.
  • Build and manage long-term strategic relationships with veterinary schools, universities, and academic institutions across North & East India.
  • Spearhead academic collaborations through structured training programs, research partnerships, and investigator-initiated studies.
  • Represent Zoetis at national and regional veterinary conferences, scientific symposia, and seminars, including support on select weekends as required.
  • Drive scientific thought leadership that elevates Zoetis brand equity within the veterinary professional community.

Customer Engagement & Therapy Area Awareness

  • Design and conduct lunch-and-learn sessions, scientific workshops, and educational webinars targeted at veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and clinic staff.
  • Create awareness across key therapy areas including dermatology, parasitology, pain management, oncology, infectious diseases, and preventive health, in line with the expanding Zoetis portfolio.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support: disease information, diagnostic and treatment protocols, vaccination guidelines, pharmacovigilance updates, and Good Clinical Practice guidance.
  • Respond to and resolve customer medical queries in a prompt, professional, and scientifically accurate manner.
  • Monitor coverage and frequency KPIs with identified target customers to drive meaningful scientific engagement and business growth.

Sales Team Training & Field Capability Building

  • Deliver comprehensive product, disease area, and scientific training to the field sales team, enhancing their technical competency and confidence in customer discussions.
  • Coach field colleagues on-ground during joint field visits; use field intelligence to identify gaps in medical knowledge and unmet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to develop and deliver high-quality training modules for the field force.
  • Monitor and improve technical competency scores for field colleagues across the territory.
  • Play an active role in internal company meetings, national medical conferences, and training events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the marketing team to ensure technically sound product positioning, messaging, and campaign development; share ground-level market insights for medico-marketing initiatives.
  • Support achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual business goals through technical advocacy, scientific engagement, and strategic customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with global/regional teams to design, set up, and execute clinical/field trials; prepare detailed field reports and submit learnings.
  • Work with the Pharmacovigilance (PV) and regulatory team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of adverse events and product complaints; uphold the highest standards of pharmacovigilance compliance.
  • Maintain accurate business records; share account and market intelligence with relevant stakeholders.

Compliance & Ethics

  • Adhere strictly to Zoetis Pharmacovigilance Policy, Global Veterinary Policy, travel & expenses policy, and applicable local codes of practice.
