Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Field Service Support Engineer is responsible for supporting a reduced number of systems within a primary region while providing flexible support across the assigned national territory and occasionally internationally. This role combines territorial ownership with a high level of mobility to support business continuity, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. The position requires strong technical expertise in electro-mechanical systems, adaptability, and excellent customer service and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all scheduled maintenance activities including system inspections, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and field actions
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Intuitive products within assigned and support customers and IS teams on assigned territories.
  • Coordinate and perform system installations and hardware delivery
  • Maintain a smaller primary install base while ensuring high service quality and responsiveness
  • Provide on-demand support across the entire national territory (all regions within dedicated country) and Overseas territories based on operational needs.
  • Support additional other regions (EMEA) on an ad hoc basis when required.
  • Collaborate with Field Service teams to cover gaps (vacancies, absences, workload peaks)
  • Support Sales and Clinical teams during events, training sessions, and key customer activities, including system demonstrations, clinical workshops and on-site support.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records (Field Reports, Spare Parts, Expenses, RMAs)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operating room protocols
  • Provide feedback to HQ and take part in continuous improvement projects as required to improve processes and find efficiencies
  • Complete all required training and maintain technical certifications
  • Act as a flexible resource to support regional service strategy and operational priorities
  • Travel frequency: ~60–80% within national/country territory including Overseas territories, and occasionally internationally when needed.
  • Reside near a major European/international transport hub
  • Provide mentoring support to junior FSEs when required
  • Contribute to territory reviews and service performance tracking

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical diploma is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of proven experience in field service and electro-mechanical systems troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and travel frequently.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Clean driving license and ability to handle physical workload requirements.
  • Fluent in English and relevant local language(s).
