What You Will Do *
Function: Quality
Discipline: Supplier Quality & Development - SBU Focal
Function description: Ensures that the quality of RTX suppliers, products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving.
Discipline description: Manages supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring/escalation processes, processing of supplier submission of nonconforming material. Manages/Supports supplier onboarding and qualification/certification. Manages source inspection and material release processes. Performs Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic supplier process and product materials. Proactively supports the RTX supplier programs to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability. Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies; addressing them with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), as well as driving their implementation. Ensures that supplier is capable to meet all contract requirements including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.

JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION
• Primary interface between site quality/operations teams and the central supplier quality organization.
• Support Site Operations, Quality Clinics, VSL, Program and Tier meetings for business units.
• Represent supplier quality in site and SBU CAB Reviews.
• Onsite presence and support for 2nd and 3rd Party Audits.
• Risk management to site through Waivers (QMS/NADCAP), Risk Release Approvals and Containment activity.
• Ensure continuous flow of material into sites through FAI prioritization, SRI support, QN (V1) Processing.
• Support unique SBU processes and requirements to satisfy customer requests.
• May manage moderately sized projects or processes.
• Typically viewed as subject-matter expert within discipline.
• Has advanced to expert knowledge of work area.
• Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
• Minimal oversight from manager.
• Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to other quality professionals.
• Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
PURPOSE
Manages Supplier Quality & Development processes and / or projects as an individual contributor. Works to achieve objectives that have a major impact on the organization Supplier Quality & Development goals while maintaining strong ties to Collins plant sites and/or strategic business units. Uses expertise to provide input on
supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS
• Analyzes and makes recommendations for the implementation of supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
• Manages the analysis of quality data and development of part / supplier specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
• Provides research and guidance for root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) in escape management procedures. Develops corrective and / or preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers.
• Manages processes and procedures for supplier qualification / certification, source inspection and material release processes, and Correction Action Boards / DQ Clinics with suppliers.
• Drives support for the UTC Supplier Gold program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.
• Reviews processes and metrics to ensure supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (UPPAP) acceptance.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
