Overview:
The Workday HRIS Reporting & Analytics Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing reporting and analytics solutions across the Workday platform. This role partners closely with stakeholders across Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Learning, Help, Payroll, and other business functions to deliver meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and workforce planning.
The analyst leverages Workday reporting and analytics tools to transform complex data into actionable information through reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytics solutions. This role serves as a trusted partner to business leaders by providing data-driven recommendations, ensuring data integrity, and enhancing the overall reporting experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize Workday reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytics solutions.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
- Support reporting needs across Workday functional areas, including HCM, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Learning, Help, and Payroll.
- Utilize Workday reporting tools, including Advanced Reports, Composite Reports, Matrix Reports, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, Prism Analytics, and Calculated Fields.
- Analyze workforce and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain executive, operational, compliance, and ad hoc reporting solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through validation, testing, and quality assurance processes.
- Support regulatory reporting, audits, and organizational reporting requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, reporting standards, process guides, and end-user training materials.
- Collaborate with HRIS, IT, and business teams to support Workday enhancements, upgrades, implementations, and optimization initiatives.
- Promote self-service reporting capabilities and educate users on Workday reporting tools and best practices.
- Recommend innovative reporting and analytics solutions that improve business outcomes and enhance the user experience.
- Support data governance initiatives and organizational reporting standards.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field (Required)
Certification/Licensure
- Workday Pro Reporting Certification / HCM/Compensation /reporting or analytics-related certifications - (Strongly Preferred)
Experience
Required
- 2-5 years of experience developing reporting and analytics solutions within the Workday platform.
- Experience creating and maintaining Workday reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Experience supporting reporting needs across one or more Workday functional areas, including Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Learning, Help, or Payroll.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting and analytics solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience working with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience utilizing Advanced Reports, Composite Reports, Matrix Reports, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, Prism Analytics, and Calculated Fields.
- Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, upgrades, or optimization projects.
- Knowledge of workforce analytics, HR metrics, compensation analytics, recruiting metrics, payroll reporting, and learning analytics.
- Understanding of data governance, data privacy, security, and reporting best practices.
- Experience creating user guides, training materials, and reporting documentation.
- Experience working in a healthcare, large enterprise, or highly matrixed environment.
