SAP S/4HANA Engineering Change Management (ECM) Consultant

Role Summary

We are seeking a senior SAP S/4HANA Engineering Change Management (ECM) Consultant to support a large-scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA brownfield transformation within a global pharmaceutical organization.

This consultant will play a key role in designing, configuring, and implementing SAP S/4 Unified Change Records while supporting the migration of legacy Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO) processes from SAP ECC. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Supply Chain Engineering Change Management, GxP-controlled master data, and SAP S/4HANA workflows within a regulated life sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and enhancement of Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes within SAP S/4HANA.
• Configure and support SAP S/4 Unified Change Records, including Change Objects and Status Profiles.
• Support the migration of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from SAP ECC into SAP S/4HANA.
• Configure and support SAP Fiori applications related to ECM, including:
  • Manage Change Records (F2097)
  • Engineering Cockpit (Fiori App 3384)
• Design and implement Flexible Workflows to support engineering change approvals, governance, and compliance.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT stakeholders to improve engineering change processes and business workflows.
• Support engineering change activities involving:
  • Master Recipes
  • Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Material Master
  • Packaging Components
  • Other GxP-controlled Supply Chain data
• Support integration points between SAP S/4HANA and adjacent systems, including SAP PLM and material synchronization interfaces.
• Assist with remediation of custom SAP solutions while aligning functionality with SAP S/4HANA best practices.
• Participate in testing, validation, deployment, and knowledge transfer activities within a GxP-regulated environment.
• Troubleshoot engineering change issues and recommend process improvements throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP experience with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience with Engineering Change Management (ECM) within SAP S/4HANA.
• Proven experience implementing and supporting SAP S/4 Unified Change Records.
• Experience migrating ECC Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO) processes to SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong experience configuring SAP Fiori applications related to Engineering Change Management, including Manage Change Records and Engineering Cockpit.
• Experience designing and implementing Flexible Workflows within SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong understanding of Supply Chain and Manufacturing master data, including:
  • Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Master Recipes
  • Material Master
  • Engineering Change Records
• Experience working with GxP-controlled data in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.
• Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Brownfield SAP S/4HANA transformations.
• Experience with SAP PLM and Engineering Change integrations.
• Familiarity with Change Master Data processes.
• Experience working within global pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing organizations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead workshops, gather requirements, and manage stakeholder expectations.
