Job description

Position Summary:

Sitting in the Corporate and CEO Programs department and reporting to the Associate Vice President, Member Relations, the program associate will support stewardship and the broader efforts of the department.

This full-time position is based in CFR’s Washington, DC office at least three days per week. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are considered institutional anchor days where all staff are required to be onsite. Effective Monday, September 14, 2026, CFR employees will be based on-site at least four days per week. CFR’s remote working schedule is subject to change. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Manage the email and phone line for the Corporate Program, serving as the initial point of contact for executives from corporate member companies; manage the email, web, and phone registration process for over 300 events per year; and troubleshoot general questions and route specific inquiries to appropriate team members.
  • Manage all aspects of financial tracking and invoicing for the Global Board of Advisors and the Corporate Program, including but not limited to preparing invoices, coordinating required financial documents, portal submissions, reviewing membership agreements, and preparing receipts.
  • Execute various research projects for the Corporate and CEO Programs team, including but not limited to preparing briefs (including using AI tools); and remaining current on topics/regions relevant to member companies and prospective member companies.
  • Extensive use of the CFR CRM database, including updating contact information and profiles, tracking relevant interactions, writing and executing queries, generating database reports, and tracking audience development for upcoming events.
  • Provide administrative support to the Associate Vice Presidents for member relations and for programming, including but not limited to: tracking and scheduling meetings, scheduling meeting rooms, coordinating travel arrangements, and preparing expense reports and vouchers. (Serves as backup administrative support to the Vice President, Corporate and CEO Programs.)
  • Work closely with all Corporate and CEO Programs team members and other departments in support of overall departmental and institutional priorities and provide assistance across departmental lines upon request.
  • Staff Corporate and CEO Programs events, as well as CFR-wide events, including early morning breakfasts and evening meetings outside of regular business hours as needed.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Degree in a related field with an interest in business, economics, and international relations.
  • A minimum of 1+ year of related work experience, preferably at a non-profit organization or in the private sector.
  • Experience in fundraising, relationship management, and corporate stewardship is preferred.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, sound judgment, and the highest level of discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work within deadlines
  • Detail oriented, self-starter that can work effectively, both independently and on a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics database management experience strongly preferred, and the aptitude to learn and utilize different technologies
  • Flexible schedule with willingness to work early morning and evening events.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $59,000 – $64,000, depending on experience.
