Role Description
As the Social Content & Influencer Specialist at Koala, you'll help bring our brand to life across owned and earned social channels. You'll create engaging social content, build authentic relationships with creators and partners, and support campaigns that grow Koala's community, reach and revenue. Working closely with the Social Lead and cross-functional teams, you'll play a key role in product launches, brand campaigns and key retail moments.
Key Responsibilities
Influencer Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of Koala’s creator and gifting strategy for Koala, growing Koala’s reach across social platforms to target audiences
Work closely with internal and external (re: agency) stakeholder to ensure creator alignment across key brand moments such as product launches, collab campaigns and sales
Identify culturally and brand-relevant creators and tastemakers and ambassador opportunities that strengthen Koala’s relevance and reach
Negotiate creator rates with managers and talent to ensure strong ROI and commercial outcome
Partner with Creative and Paid teams to maximise content performance across organic and paid channels
Assist in creative briefing of creators to drive quality and authentic content that hits reach targets
Manage day-to-day communications with creators and partners, including product orders, contracts and content feedback
Track and report on campaign performance, reporting regularly on reach, engagement and content KPIs to the wider marketing team
Maintain organisation across the Marketing Calendar, Influencer Tracker and GDrive (contracts, content, usage rights)
Social Media Responsibilities
Concept, create and edit engaging short-form content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and emerging social platforms using tools such as Canva, CapCut and Adobe Creative Suite.
Capture both planned and reactive content, including filming on-location, in the showroom, at events and with creators when required.
Be comfortable appearing on camera to create authentic, personality-led content for Koala's social channels.
Plan, maintain and execute the social content calendar in partnership with the Social Lead, ensuring content aligns with key campaigns, launches and cultural moments.
Schedule and publish content through Sprout Social while maintaining best practices for each platform.
Monitor community conversations across social channels, responding to comments and DMs in Koala's brand voice while identifying opportunities to engage with creators and customers.
Analyze organic social performance and translate insights into actionable recommendations through weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Stay on top of platform trends, new features and emerging content formats, proactively bringing fresh ideas that help Koala remain culturally relevant.
Work cross-functionally with Creative, Brand, Influencer and Paid teams to ensure social content supports broader marketing initiatives.
Ideal background
3+ years experience working in influencer marketing or social media with a proven track record of successful campaigns, preferably in e-commerce
Excellent project management and organisational capabilities
Strong communication, negotiation & relationship-building skills
Be comfortable being on camera
Proficiency in social media platforms and influencer marketing tools such as CreatorIQ
Data-driven decision maker with ability to analyse campaign performance and use this to inform future campaigns
Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
Highly organised and detail-oriented.
