We are seeking a Lead Certification Engineer to join our team and ensure every McIntosh product meets global safety, EMC, and environmental compliance requirements.

Position Summary

Luxury Engineering – A new business unit within Bose corporation is looking for a McIntosh Lead Certification Engineer who will own the product certification process across the portfolio—from concept through production release. This role will manage compliance strategy, testing, and documentation for all global market requirements, ensuring timely product approvals and maintaining McIntosh’s reputation for uncompromising quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all regulatory certification activities for McIntosh products, including safety, EMC/EMI, RF, environmental, and energy efficiency compliance.
  • Develop and execute certification strategies and test plans in collaboration with design, quality, and manufacturing teams.
  • Interface directly with certification bodies, test laboratories, and regulatory agencies (e.g., UL, CSA, CE, FCC, ISED, etc.).
  • Review and approve test reports, risk assessments, and supporting technical documentation for global market submissions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable standards (e.g., IEC/EN/UL 60065, 62368-1, 61000-6-x, 55032, 55035) and ensure designs comply from early stages.
  • Serve as internal subject-matter expert for regulatory design guidance and pre-compliance testing.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Compliance and Legal staff on environmental compliance for global markets, including RoHS, REACH, WEEE, California Prop 65, and other substance regulations.
  • Maintain the McIntosh certification database and compliance records, ensuring traceability and timely renewals.
  • Support factory audits, production inspections, and change control to maintain certification validity throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Mentor engineers and technicians on compliance best practices and emerging regulatory trends.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in product compliance, testing, or certification engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with audio, consumer electronics, or RF products.
  • In-depth knowledge of international safety and EMC standards and certification processes.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical standards and communicate requirements to design teams.
  • Proven experience working with third-party test labs and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) certification and test requirements.
  • Familiarity with environmental and sustainability regulations for consumer electronics.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects and teams.

The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of Work from Home, New Hampshire is: $112,600-$154,900.The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.
