SCOPE OF POSITION:

The UVO Market Planner is responsible for driving performance across key business segments, including Retention, Used Vehicle, and Branded Programs, through strategic planning, pricing support, and data-driven insights. The role translates market intelligence and performance data into actionable strategies, supports pricing and program governance forums, and enables execution across the field through reporting, tools, and structured performance tracking.

Success in this role is measured by the ability to influence business outcomes, improve penetration rates, optimize pricing strategies, and increase market share through proactive planning and effective cross-functional alignment.

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own performance tracking, forecasting, and planning across assigned business segments, ensuring clear visibility to performance versus targets and proactive identification of risks and opportunities.

  • Support and lead preparation for pricing and program governance meetings, including development of insights, recommendations, and executive-ready materials.

  • Analyze market trends, competitive positioning (banks, OEMs, indirect lending), and customer behaviour to inform pricing strategies and program direction.

  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards (including Power BI) to enable scalable, consistent, and self-serve performance insights.

  • Identify opportunities and develop business cases for pricing and program enhancements that drive measurable growth, retention, and competitiveness.

  • Leverage automation and emerging tools (e.g., AI-driven analytics) to enhance forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Credit, Risk, Remarketing, and IT to ensure alignment between strategy, pricing, and execution.

  • Maintain documentation of reporting methodologies, data sources, and processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and reduced key-person dependency.

POSITION PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum College Diploma required; University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field preferred.

  • 2–5 years of experience in automotive finance, pricing strategy, sales planning, or analytical roles.

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics including OEMs, banks, and indirect lending channels.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence business decisions without direct authority.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with senior leadership to present insights and support pricing and program decisions. 

  • Collaborates with Honda and Acura brand teams to align on program performance, planning, and strategic initiatives. 

  • Works closely with field teams to support execution through performance tracking and dealer-level insights. 

  • Partners with internal departments including Sales, Credit, Risk, Remarketing, and IT to ensure alignment across strategy, analytics, and execution.

HIRING PRACTICES 

  

The salary range for this position is $72,921–$86,593 CAD annually. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of job-related factors, including education, experience, knowledge, and skill set. 

   

On-Site Occasional Work-from-Home: This is an on-site with occasional work-from-home position that requires employees to work on-site four days per week with the opportunity to work-from-home one day per week (with a dedicated workspace at the assigned company office).
