Job description

Job Type: Full-Time Salaried, Exempt
Standard Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM  -5 PM
Location: Greenville, SC 29615
Experience: A.S. degree and 2+ years experience in PC Support/Network Administration OR 3+ years experience and relevant certifications.

Why Circuit Board Medics?

Imagine working for a business that puts customers' best interests first, even when it costs the company. And imagine finishing each day satisfied by your work and appreciated for it.

That's the reality at Circuit Board Medics. Our team strives to serve each other and our customers with passion, grit, and excellence, and right now, we're looking for an IT Support Specialist to help us restore what's broken for our customers.

What We Do

In a world that tends toward replacement, Circuit Board Medics recognizes the value of fixing what is broken. Founded in 2010, Circuit Board Medics (CBM) has cemented its place in the remanufacturing world through high quality work and stellar customer service. CBM specializes in repairing and rebuilding circuitry in automotive and appliance modules. By repairing these components, CBM offers customers an alternative to high cost replacement parts and a timely solution for malfunctioning ovens, refrigerators, cars, trucks and more.

Who We're Looking For

We hire for character as much as competence. Our team takes ownership of their work, stays curious and adaptable, and puts the needs of others ahead of their own. We treat people the way we want to be treated, and we push each other to grow — like iron sharpening iron.

If you've got good judgment, a hunger to learn, and a desire to contribute to both the work and the culture here, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As our IT Support Specialist, you'll be a hands-on member of the IT team, keeping daily operations running smoothly across the company. You'll be the first point of contact for technical support requests, and you'll install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, networks, and printers for our internal users. You'll also help the IT Manager execute larger projects — think office expansions, server upgrades, and network infrastructure improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical support, on-site and remote
  • Install and configure approved applications on client computers
  • Provision new user accounts and workstations
  • Perform scheduled systems maintenance and updates outside business hours
  • Set up and support network peripherals — printers, switches, and other devices
  • Assemble, install, repair, and maintain computer hardware and components
  • Manage data backup and replication
  • Identify, document, and resolve recurring technical issues
  • Monitor and respond to antivirus threat alerts
  • Train end users on new procedures or system upgrades
  • Maintain accurate documentation in our internal knowledgebase
  • Support the IT Manager in implementing and completing IT projects on time
  • Maintain the integrity of our local and wireless networks
  • Take on other related duties as needed

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • A.S. degree with 2+ years of experience in PC support/network administration, or 3+ years of experience with relevant certifications
  • Strong grasp of PC computing and networking concepts, from the ground up to the big picture
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 10 desktop operating systems
  • Proficiency with Windows Server 2016+, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • The ability to translate technical issues into plain language for non-technical users
  • Strong prioritization, customer service, and communication skills
  • An openness to constructive feedback from the people you support

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud services (IaaS/PaaS)
  • CompTIA A+ Certification

Good to Know

Circuit Board Medics was built around a one-day turnaround for standard repairs — which means we move fast, and we expect a strong sense of urgency from our team. The typical day runs 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a lunch break, but the IT team's top priority is getting the job done, which occasionally means staying past 5:00.

This is hands-on work: expect a medium-to-high level of manual dexterity for hardware installation, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
