At Team Global Express, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As we continue to transform one of Australia's largest logistics and freight businesses, we're looking for an experienced Employee & Industrial Relations Manager to join our high-performing People team.
This is a career-defining opportunity for an ER/IR professional who thrives on solving complex challenges, influencing senior leaders and making a genuine impact across a large, dynamic and highly unionised national workforce.
No two days are the same. From leading high-profile workplace investigations and providing trusted advice to senior leaders, through to representing the business in industrial matters and shaping ER strategy, you'll be at the centre of some of our most critical people decisions.
What you'll be doing
As our Employee & Industrial Relations Manager, you'll be the trusted expert for complex ER and IR matters across the business. You'll partner closely with operational leaders, HR, legal teams and union representatives to deliver practical, commercially focused outcomes while ensuring fairness, compliance and exceptional employee experiences.
You'll:
Lead end-to-end workplace investigations into matters including misconduct, bullying, harassment, discrimination and policy breaches.
Provide expert, commercially pragmatic advice on complex employee and industrial relations issues.
Coach and support leaders through disciplinary processes, performance matters and workplace disputes.
Interpret and advise on employment legislation, enterprise agreements, awards and workplace policies.
Represent Team Global Express in Fair Work Commission proceedings and other industrial forums when required.
Build strong relationships with unions and employee representatives to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
Develop leader capability through coaching, education and proactive ER guidance.
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our Employee & Industrial Relations strategy, governance and best practice.
What you'll bring
You'll be an experienced ER/IR professional who enjoys navigating complexity, influencing stakeholders and balancing commercial outcomes with sound judgement and legislative compliance.
You'll also bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Law or a related discipline.
Significant experience managing complex employee and industrial relations matters within a large or complex organisation.
Proven expertise conducting sensitive workplace investigations from initial assessment through to recommendations and outcomes.
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and industrial frameworks.
Experience working in unionised environments and building productive relationships with employee representatives.
Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Confidence working autonomously while partnering effectively with leaders across all levels of the business.
The ability to remain calm, objective and decisive when dealing with sensitive and high-risk matters.
