Location:   Portland, Maine; Boston, US Remote

Who you are: 

The Program Manager will join a passionate, innovative, and growing Custom Programs team to develop and manage customized study abroad programs with CIEE partners, comprising a diverse set of U.S. and international colleges and universities. As the primary point of contact for CIEE partners within a region of the U.S., this role is responsible for all aspects of the consultative and program planning process for a variety of program models, including faculty-led, internship, modified, and custom semester programs.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage an active pipeline of custom program opportunities to meet annual sales goals.
  • Collaborate with the Institutional Relations team to generate new program leads and secure new institutional partnerships.
  • Build relationships with partners by understanding their needs and objectives and delivering strong customer service.
  • Collaborate with international teams to draft program budgets, create program proposals, and write contracts.
  • Manage the pre-departure planning and preparation process with partners and CIEE staff.
  • Engage in CIEE and industry conferences and events to sell and promote CIEE’s Custom Programs.
  • Assist with special projects and other tasks as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of Custom Programs.


What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of three years of solution sales, account management, or partnership development experience.
  • Experience working with faculty or within higher education preferred.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, responsible, and passionate about exceeding partner expectations.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and take initiative.
  • Experience with Excel preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Study abroad experience preferred.


Location Requirements  

The position is open to candidates located in Portland, Maine; Boston.
