Help Shape the Future of Social Gaming

Great engineers come from all kinds of backgrounds.

Whether you're just starting your career, looking for your next challenge, or already recognised as a technical leader, we're always interested in hearing from talented people who are passionate about building exceptional games.

At Lockwood, we think and move like a start-up - curious, fast-moving and at the forefront of AI-driven development in games. Our engineers help create experiences enjoyed by millions of players around the world, solving complex technical challenges and building a game that continues to evolve every day.

If you enjoy solving problems, learning continuously and creating technology that makes a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We're building our Engineering team across multiple levels of experience.

Rather than recruiting against a single level, we're looking for engineers who share our values - people with the entrepreneurial drive to take ownership, move fast and make things better. Depending on your experience and strengths, you may join as a Junior, Mid-Level, Senior or Lead/Principal Programmer within our Engineering Career Framework.

Wherever you join, you'll work on meaningful technical challenges, contribute to a live product and grow your career alongside experienced engineers who genuinely care about craft.

  • Deliver features and systems that enhance the player experience
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code

Solve meaningful problems

  • Work on technical challenges that support a large-scale live service
  • Identify opportunities to simplify systems and improve engineering efficiency
  • Balance innovation with practical delivery

Collaborate across the studio

  • Work closely with Designers, Artists, Producers, QA and Data teams
  • Communicate clearly, share knowledge openly and raise risks early

Work smarter

  • Use AI responsibly to accelerate development, improve code quality and increase productivity
  • Bring curiosity about emerging technologies and strong technical judgement

  • Curiosity about AI-assisted development and modern engineering practices

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with Unity or mobile/live-service games
  • Knowledge of performance optimisation or backend/cloud technologies
  • Contributions to game jams, open-source or personal projects
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical initiatives

Benefits

  • Private Healthcare Plan
  • Pension Plan
  • Life Assurance
  • Work From Home
  • Training & Development
  • Employee Assistance Programme

Why Join Lockwood?

We're a studio with a start-up mindset and a game played by millions - which means you get the scale of a live product with the energy and ownership of an entrepreneurial team. Ideas are welcomed, improvement is constant, and the work you do genuinely shapes the player experience.

Whether you're taking your first steps in the industry or leading complex technical initiatives, you'll be supported to grow, expand your influence and build a rewarding long-term career.
