About the opportunity

We are seeking a Project Manager to join the Change Management and Control team in Madrid. Our team sits within Global Operations Services (GOS) and is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of cross-functional initiatives and programs across N26 Operations while working alongside stakeholders across the entire organisation (Legal, Business Operations, Product and Growth). In particular, working in change management and project management for the Operations department.

In your next challenge, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various functions to address company management and strategic topics, such as roadmap development and business case formulation

  • Take responsibility for preparing, supporting, and proactively challenging organizational changes originating from other parts of the business, particularly Product and Business Function stakeholders, that impact operational departments

  • Lead the initiation, planning, and execution of specific projects in accordance with the Change Management & Control team’s framework, ensuring they are completed on time and that both pre- and post-launch requirements are raised and met within the defined scope

  • Manage projects end-to-end, from initial strategic design through delivery execution, with a focus on continuous improvement and ongoing management, including identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures within Operations

  • Maintain and improve written documentation for the team, ensuring accuracy and clarity

  • Contribute to the delivery and tracking of team OKRs to support overall performance and alignment with business goals

  • Fully leverage and further develop critical business skills, including quantitative and qualitative analysis, project management, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership in a high-performing team environment

  • Help maintain and update team documentation to ensure it is accurate, comprehensive, and easily understood

  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly team meetings, ensuring clear communication, alignment on priorities, and timely follow-up on action items to support team progress

What you’ll need to be successful

Background: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services with a proven track record of expanding scope and leading projects end-to-end

  • At least 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment, ideally in project management or consulting

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or a related field is preferred

  • Fluent in English; German and Spanish are a plus

Skills: 

  • Strong project management skills, with experience handling projects involving multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently on projects, even in challenging situations

  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills to guide projects to completion within given constraints

  • A growth mindset, with an agile, “get things done” approach to problem-solving

  • Interest in the banking industry and a desire to expand your knowledge of both banking and project management

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively

  • Able to take direction, work independently, and know when to ask for help
