About the opportunity

As a part of the Banking Operations group, you will join a motivated Claims team focused primarily on the support of one of N26’s key markets, Germany. As a Specialist on the German market, you will learn the fundamental concepts, best practices, and procedures of our team. 

In this role, you will:

  • Execute business processes on behalf of the customers, dealing with enquiries and orders, while developing a broad knowledge within your area.

  • Support activities linked to defined processes within Banking Operations, including regulatory requirements and risk controls, and support incoming legal requests.

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure cases are handled efficiently, coordinate with other operational teams, and improve the quality of services delivered to our customers.

  • Assist in handling communications with external partners, and assist them in the day-to-day by providing answers and support.

  • Maintain internal documentation, ensuring it is up to date in order to stay compliant and minimise risk of audit findings.

  • Handle insolvency and edge cases, developing a strong understanding of the legal implications and compliance the bank is subjected to.

  • Contribute to improving processes with a strong customer focus, and support operational teams with the analysis of incidents.

  • Provide feedback and opportunities to teams in order to streamline processes and standardize workflows.
     

What you need to be successful in:

  • Initial experience or a strong interest in banking operations, legal, or regulatory topics.

  • A structured way of working, with excellent organizational skills, and the ability to learn best practices and manage operational requests.

  • You bring a completed bank apprenticeship, or a university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, law, or a related field.

  • You have the ability to focus on details and technicalities while simultaneously retaining a comprehensive vision of the big picture.

  • Demonstrate a data analytics mindset to properly understand the data provided to you , and the ability to independently leverage data for prioritisation and decision making (SQL experience is a plus).

  • Fluent German and English (written and spoken) are required. Any other European language is a bonus.

  • A collaborative mindset combined with a customer oriented focus, and confidence while communicating with stakeholders.
