About the team
Our Tax team’s mission is to modernise a traditional tax cost centre into “Tax-as-a-Partner” to ‘protect and serve’ the business, the needs of our employees, our investors, global Government and Tax Authorities where we operate, and ultimately the users of Canva’s amazing product.
Our guiding principle is to operate in a manner that reflects our core value of being a good global citizen. We’re focussed on enhancing the foundations of the Tax function as Canva enters an exciting era of operating as a Big Company! We want to do all this within a fun and engaging environment that promotes collaboration, forward thinking and continuous improvement all whilst making tax as painless as possible.
What you’ll be doing in this role
We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Indirect Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. You’ll have a strong background in indirect tax compliance, accounting for indirect taxes, preparing commercially focused indirect tax advice, an aptitude for project management and utilising technology and automation. The ideal candidate will have experience in both private and public companies. You will be hands-on, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day indirect tax operations of the company in the US, Canada and Latin America, ensuring compliance, transparency and accuracy. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our processes and policies support the scale and complexity of a rapidly-expanding company.

We make hiring decisions based on your skills, experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learnt in the hiring process. The target salary range for this position is $166,000 - $245,000. When calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates' skills and experience.
