Job description

About OpenLoop

OpenLoop was co-founded by CEO, Dr. Jon Lensing, and COO, Christian Williams, with the vision to bring care anywhere. Our telehealth support solutions are thoughtfully designed to streamline and simplify go-to-market care delivery for companies offering meaningful virtual support to patients across an expansive array of specialties, in all 50 states.

About the Role

OpenLoop is seeking a board-certified Sleep Medicine Physician to review, diagnose, and establish treatment plans for patients based on at-home sleep study results. This role is central to strengthening and scaling a specialized sleep medicine program, with responsibility for advancing clinical quality, defining provider standards, and driving performance across a growing network of sleep specialists.

This role functions as a core clinical leader within an interdisciplinary care team, with a focus on both direct patient care and strengthening the foundation of a growing sleep medicine program.

The physician will bring dedicated sleep medicine expertise to help elevate clinical quality, establish clear expectations for provider performance, and ensure alignment with rigorous external training and care standards. This includes contributing to how providers are prepared, supported, and evaluated as the program expands.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct telemedicine visits (asynchronous, video, phone) for initial and follow-up care

  • Review sleep questionnaires to validate at-home sleep study orders

  • Interpret at-home sleep study results and diagnose sleep-related conditions

  • Own the development and quality of treatment plans across the sleep medicine program, including prescriptions and letters of medical necessity (CPAP, oral appliances, surgical referrals), ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and alignment with evidence-based guidelines

  • Serve as a clinical authority for complex cases and provider decision-making

  • Drive consistency in care delivery across providers through protocol development, calibration, and feedback loops

  • Lead clinical quality initiatives, including chart review, performance feedback, and targeted improvement efforts

  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders on clinical strategy and program performance

  • Establish and operationalize clinical competencies, training expectations, and success metrics for sleep medicine providers

  • Build and evolve the infrastructure for scaling the provider network, including provider selection criteria and evaluation processes to ensure alignment with clinical standards and program needs

Who You Are

  • Board certification in Sleep Medicine (MD or DO)

  • 3+ years of experience in a sleep-focused clinical environment, working alongside other sleep specialists

  • Active and unrestricted medical licenses in 20+ states

  • 1+ years of telemedicine experience

  • Strong clinical judgment and deep expertise in sleep diagnostics and treatment pathways

  • Experience contributing to or leading clinical quality initiatives, provider training, or competency development preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to guide and influence clinical practice

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

 Our Benefits

In addition, for salaried positions you would also be eligible for:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision plans

  • Flexible Spending/Health Savings Accounts

  • Generous PTO and hybrid-work flexibility

  • 401(k) + Company Match

  • Life Insurance, Pet insurance, and more
