Job description

SUMMARY:

As a Quality Engineer, you will join TXP's engineering team to deliver high-quality software solutions for a leading global organisation. Working within Agile engineering teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring software quality across modern enterprise applications used by thousands of users worldwide.

You'll be responsible for designing and developing automated testing solutions, implementing best practices in Quality Engineering and supporting the delivery of reliable, scalable software throughout the development lifecycle. You'll collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, DevOps Engineers and Architects while helping to drive continuous improvement across testing practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys automation, modern engineering practices and working within collaborative, cross-functional teams on long-term projects.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

You will join our engineering team and be a valued member working closely in a collaborative, autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help with the following:

  • Design, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and test suites.
  • Develop test strategies and test plans for complex enterprise applications.
  • Perform Unit, Component, Integration, System, End-to-End and Non-Functional testing.
  • Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and risk-based testing approaches.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left testing practices.
  • Execute functional, regression, performance and security testing activities.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Business Acceptance Testing (BAT).
  • Create and maintain test data, documentation and quality artefacts.
  • Work closely with Software Engineers through collaborative development and pair programming.
  • Identify, analyse and support the resolution of software defects.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing standards and automation practices.
  • Mentor junior Quality Engineers and share knowledge across the team.
  • Ensure all engineering solutions meet TXP's quality, security and delivery standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Strong commercial experience as a Quality Engineer, QA Automation Engineer or Software Test Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Experience working within Agile software development teams.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the complete testing lifecycle.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of functional and non-functional testing.
  • Experience using Git and GitLab.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-first mindset.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale software systems.

    AWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED:

    • Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber or JUnit.
    • Postman, Gatling or OWASP ZAP.
    • Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Azure and/or AWS.
    • Accessibility testing (WCAG).
    • Performance or security testing.
    • Experience mentoring other engineers.
    • Relevant degree or professional certifications.
    • Existing or eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).
