About the Role 

The primary purpose of the Business Consultant – Property & Rating is to deliver Professional Consulting outcomes following Datascape Implementation Methodology to Datacom's customers throughout New Zealand. 

The focus of the role is to implement the Property & Rating Modules on our Datascape ERP solution for our customers within the Local Government market. Consulting engagements may range from large scale multi month implementations through to small one day engagements. 

Some onsite customer work may be required from time to time and consultants need to be available for travel, as required. Datacom embraces flexible working arrangements outside of onsite customer commitments. 

What you’ll bring 

  • Council experience would be looked upon favourably, particularly in Rates processing or Building and Planning functions
  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into functional requirements and solution delivery. 
  • Able to deliver end-user and application training
  • System administration or hands on configuration experience 
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction, quality improvements and outcomes. 
  • Exceptional corporate presentation skills and strong people engagement ability. 
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, negotiation and organisation skills. 
  • A teamwork approach, always willing to share your knowledge to benefit others. 
  • Previous ERP vendor experience would be advantageous 

What you’ll do 

  • Implementing Datacom’s ERP solution to suit customer’s business requirements in line with proven/best practice. 
  • Workshop Facilitation – Confidently leads a broad range of workshops. Delivers workshop outcomes where a variety of stakeholder interests (often conflicting) exist. Drives best practice within the bounds of the product and where necessary, guides the customer to alter their business processes.
  • Requirements Analysis – Ensures alignment of the design (and any modelled business processes) to associated policies and identifies areas of (mis)alignment to the Datascape product suite. Identifies changes to project scope arising from the analysis and brings these to the attention of the Datacom Project Manager.
  • Solution Ownership and Design - Own business design relative to customer outcomes, create and validate documentation, minimise technical debt, and ensure standard solution patterns are followed.
  • Solution Configuration – Responsible for configuring the Datascape product suite, aligned to best practice, to conform to the documented design.
  • Testing Strategy –Collaborates on testing strategies (functional, integration, SIT) and performs testing to resolve issues. Supports end-to-end solution testing, UAT, and Go Live, actively triaging defects and validating outcomes.
  • Training – Trains customers in the Datascape Product and product administration ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and supporting Train the Trainer initiatives.
  • Provide feedback on customers use of the software or areas of improvement to the Development team.
