vaylens GmbH is a leading provider of hardware-agnostic, scalable software solutions for Charge Point Operators (CPOs) across Europe and the UK. vaylens focuses on the management and monetization of EV (electric vehicle) charging infrastructure, offering tools for station management, access control, billing, and monetization. In 2024 alone, an amount of energy of 140 GWh was charged via the backend. This corresponds to 700 million kilometers traveled or around 17,500 times around the world. (A consumption of 20 kWh/100km was used as a basis for the calculation.)

The work can be managed remotely – with time-to-time office presence depending on the team’s agreement and the demand of the respective professional area – from any location in Hungary. Job Description

Role Overview Execute and lead test automation activities for our B2B web portal within a agile development team, driving frontend test methodologies across three teams and ensuring high product quality. Enable efficient management of public charging infrastructure and seamless access for EV drivers.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • You drive the test activities within an interdisciplinary Scrum team for our B2B web portal.
  • You align frontend test topics between multiple web portal teams and mentor other testers on test methodologies.
  • As a lead frontend tester, you collaborate closely with the Test Management to ensure product and process quality.
  • The design, implementation, maintenance and implementation of automatic and manual test cases is an essential part of your daily work.
  • You will report bugs, re-test related software changes and support troubleshooting bugs.
  • You act as sparring partner for the Product Owner, Developers, and Test Management.
  • You will work with international colleagues in our scaled agile software development program using SAFe methodology.

Qualifications

Required Experiences:

  • Closed academical studies, preferably B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Computer Sciences/Business Informatics or similar education
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance
  • 5+ years of professional experience as Quality Assurance Engineer OR Software Engineer 
  • Experience with automating functional, integration and regression tests of micro services, web applications or web services
  • Ideally, experience with a test automation framework like Cypress, Selenium or Playwright, or the willingness to build-up this knowledge in a short term.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (JavaScript and/or TypeScript) and database querying (SQL and/or non-SQL).
  • Having ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) and ideally, with the Agile Tester (CTFL-AT) extension.

  • You speak English fluently.
  • You are characterized by a high level of quality awareness and standards. You have attention to detail and a passion for error-free software.
  • You like to learn new things every day and like to communicate.
  • You love to work in a team. You can inspire other colleagues with your ideas and knowledge.
  • You have experience with agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban and ideally, SAFe.
  • Ideally, you have experiences in the EV charging industry.

Mobility:
As per need, usually 1-4 weeks per year to Germany or similar in Europe.
Primarily remote work.
