Position Summary

The Field Director of Technology Operations, Military is responsible for the operational leadership, deployment, support, governance, and continuous improvement of technology solutions supporting Compass Group’s military dining portfolio. This position serves as the primary technology leader for dining operations located on U.S. military installations and ensures technology systems support operational excellence, customer experience, compliance requirements, and business objectives.

The role partners closely with Operations, Compass Digital, vendor partners, Finance, Culinary, Wellness, Experience and Implementation, and other support teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions across the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the operational performance, reliability, and lifecycle management of all dining technology systems like WAND, POS, MenuWorks, MedVantage, and Compass Digital operating systems.
• Establish standards, processes, and governance for technology deployment, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for technology-related operational issues.
• Oversee POS systems, payment technologies, menu management platforms, kiosks, digital signage, operational reporting tools, and supporting infrastructure.
• Ensure accurate configuration and administration of technology platforms supporting military dining operations.
• Lead menu governance processes including menu architecture, menu deployment, modifier management, routing structures, seasonal menu maintenance, and operational menu configuration across military dining locations.

• Lead technology planning and execution for new site openings, renovations, conversions, and major system upgrades
• Coordinate installation activities with internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors.
• Develop and maintain technology documentation, support procedures, asset inventories, and operational standards.
• Partner with Compass Digital and military IT organizations regarding connectivity, infrastructure readiness, cybersecurity requirements, and operational support.
• Support PCI compliance requirements and ensure proper controls are maintained for technology systems and payment environments.
• Develop training programs, job aids, and best practices for operational teams and field leadership.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
• Support business analytics, reporting initiatives, and technology-enabled process improvements.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications associated with technology initiatives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Seven (7) or more years of technology operations, hospitality technology, retail technology, or field support experience.
• Five (5) or more years supporting enterprise POS systems and customer-facing technology platforms.
• Demonstrated experience leading technology deployments, upgrades, and operational support programs.
• Strong knowledge of payment technologies, EMV devices, POS platforms, and integrated technology environments.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts, infrastructure support, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to satisfy applicable background screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Agilysys POS solutions.
• Experience supporting military, government, or highly regulated operating environments.
• Familiarity with military food program management information systems integrations .
• Experience supporting kiosks, digital signage, and mobile ordering platforms.
• Knowledge of PCI compliance requirements and cybersecurity best practices.
• Military service or experience supporting military customers.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in active dining and operational environments.

Work Environment

This position operates in a combination of office, field, dining facility, and military installation environments. The role requires regular interaction with operational teams, Sales and Account Management teams, technology vendors, and corporate support functions.
