Job description

ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa is a dynamic and fast-growing BPO company. We are not a recruitment agency—we operate as a dedicated extension of our clients' teams, delivering high-quality service with precision, efficiency, and a personal touch.

We are looking for a driven and resilient US Outbound Sales Agent to join one of our U.S.-based clients in the financial services industry.

This is a high-volume outbound sales role where you'll engage with warm and cold prospects already stored within the client's CRM. Your goal is not to close the sale, but rather to build interest, overcome objections, and motivate prospects to complete an online application. Once submitted, the application is handed over to the client's U.S.-based sales team to complete the sales process.

Important: Basic Salary + commission is offered

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 am – 6:00 pm EST (15:00 pm – 00:00 am OR 16:00 pm – 01:00 am South African Time, depending on U.S. daylight savings).
  • Public Holidays: You will be required to work on both South African and U.S. public holidays. Compensation for South African public holidays will be provided in accordance with the BCEA. 
  • Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) is mandatory. 
    A wired Ethernet connection is required. Candidates without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered. 
  • Power Backup:  A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding or outages. Candidates without backup power cannot be considered. 
  • Work Environment: Fully remote. 
  • This role offers a competitive basic salary plus an attractive commission structure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-volume outbound calls to prospective customers.
  • Engage prospects via phone, SMS, and other communication channels where applicable.
  • Build rapport quickly and confidently manage objections.
  • Encourage prospects to complete an online financial application.
  • Accurately capture and update customer information within the CRM.
  • Maintain detailed notes and follow-up activities.
  • Meet daily activity and conversion targets.
  • Work closely with the U.S.-based sales team to ensure smooth handover of qualified applications.

Requirements

  • Proven cold calling experience - comfortable making 80 - 100 outbound calls per day and sustaining energy and quality throughout.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Confident, persuasive, and resilient personality.
  • Ability to think on your feet rather than relying solely on scripts.
  • Comfortable handling objections and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Office, Outlook, and CRM systems.
  • Experience using CRM platforms (Close.com experience advantageous).
  • Previous financial services, lending, insurance, or related sales experience will be highly advantageous.
