Job description

The Business Development Executive role at Machinio.com is one of the most impactful positions in our company. Every new customer you bring on strengthens our platform, expands our network, and directly contributes to the growth of our business.

Machinio is a fast-growing technology company transforming a $400+ billion global industry serving dealers and service providers, an industry that has historically been underserved by technology. We move fast, set high standards, and invest in our people. The pace of learning here is exceptional: the experience you'll gain in your first three months at Machinio is equivalent to what you would gain in a full year elsewhere. If you are ambitious, competitive, and looking to accelerate your career alongside a high-performing team, this could be a great opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with business owners, dealers, and service providers across North America.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding each prospect's business, challenges, and growth opportunities before recommending solutions.
  • Lead consultative sales conversations that create long-term partnerships, and sign dealers and service providers up as Machinio.com members.
  • Consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), activity metrics, sales goals, and quotas.
  • Collaborate closely with your teammates to continuously improve our process, messaging, and business development.

You could be a fit if:

  • You are highly competitive and hate losing.
  • You enjoy talking to people and naturally build trust.
  • You are curious and ask thoughtful questions before offering solutions.
  • You are resilient. You don't get discouraged by hearing "no", and see it as part of the process.
  • You are coachable and constantly looking to improve.

Working With Us:

  • Flexibility to work remote, from anywhere in Ontario, Canada.
  • Modern work equipment provided.
  • Casual, collaborative, fast-paced work environment and a fun team (we’re cool)!
  • In-person annual team events and really fun parties!
  • Employee milestone program.
  • Compensation & Benefits:
    • Base salary plus an uncapped commission plan. First-year on-target earnings of CAD$70,000-$100,000, with top performers earning more.
    • Uncapped commission structure
    • Comprehensive benefits package

    Our Interview Process:

Step 1: Introductory conversation with one of Machinio's executives, Sr. Director of Operations.

Step 2: Interview with the team's Team Lead, to dive deeper into the role, expectations, and participate in an evaluation. In this step, compensation is discussed in full detail.

Step 3: Final interview with one of our Revenue Directors.

We are efficient decision-makers, and we like to keep our interview process within 2-3 weeks. We are real employees, with long tenures and a deep knowledge of the business, and we work with and manage the job/team for which you are interviewing. We take time to interview and build teams because our people are our most important resource!
