Job Summary:
This position sits within the Geisinger Steele Institute for Health Innovation's Intelligent Automation Hub (IAH). The Steele Institute for Health Innovation applies a human centered design approach and deploying resources from cross-functional teams to achieve an innovative solution alongside the service lines’ strategic goals. The IAH is a business division comprised of a cross-functional team to deliver automated solutions (including robotic process automation) for processes and tasks where efficiency can be approved.
The Application Developer Senior reviews, analyzes, modifies, creates, debugs, designs, and tests applications using modern development methodologies and tools. Provides key insight in design and application architecture discussions. A key player on a multidisciplinary team and will engage in all aspects of the application development life cycle as needed for each project to be successful.
Job Duties:
- Designs, develops, tests, documents, deploys, monitors, and maintains automation solutions using UiPath and other approved automation tools.
- Reviews and analyzes business requirements, process documentation, and technical needs to create scalable automation designs.
- Builds production-ready automations using appropriate frameworks and standards, including REFramework where applicable, credential management, queues, logging, exception handling, orchestration, and scheduling.
- Develops integrations using APIs, databases, files, and user interface automation where appropriate.
- Provides code review, peer review, debugging, testing instructions, technical documentation, go-live planning, deployment support, hypercare, and post-live support.
- Monitors automation performance, investigates failures, performs root cause analysis, reduces downtime, and implements improvements.
- Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to resolve issues, improve system performance, ensure code quality, and align automation solutions with business needs.
- Contributes to coding standards, documentation standards, version control practices, testing practices, deployment procedures, and automation governance.
- Provides training, mentoring, and technical support to developers and team members.
- Assists in the development and documentation of technical approaches, solution design documentation, support documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Ensures automation solutions comply with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, privacy expectations, and data security standards.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging automation technologies and industry trends, including APIs, OCR, machine learning, document understanding, analytics, and intelligent automation platforms.

Additional Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with UiPath
- Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting production applications or automations.
- Experience with automation design concepts such as credential management, queues, logging, exception handling, scheduling/orchestration, monitoring, and production support.
- Experience with Azure Devops/Jira, Git, etc
- Ability to clearly articulate and implement documentation practices for automation solutions and code, with hands-on experience creating and maintaining standard RPA artifacts such as Process Design Documents (PDDs), Solution Design Documents (SDDs), and technical/runbook documentation
- Strong technical documentation, troubleshooting, debugging, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Have mentoring experience/ability to mentor others and contribute to development standards and quality practices.
- Should have code/peer review experience
- Experience with SQL, databases, and APIs
- Proficiency with one or more programming or scripting languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript, VB.NET, or similar
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with UiPath Document Understanding, OCR, intelligent document processing, machine learning-assisted extraction, or validation workflows.
- Agentic workflows, building conversational agents, etc
- Experience in other automation platforms such as Blue Prism or Automation Anywhere
- Healthcare operations, revenue cycle, patient access, claims, denials, billing, prior authorization, scheduling, or related workflow experience.
- Experience working in Epic
- Experience with Insights Dashboards, Power BI, operational reporting, monitoring dashboards, or automation analytics
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
