Job description

The future of money is hybrid, and at Utorg, we aren't waiting for it; we’re building it.

From our crypto card and non-custodial wallet to advanced crypto processing, we create tools that bridge the gap between traditional finance and the decentralized world. We focus on what truly matters: moving value, paying, saving, and earning safely. We move fast with a product-led mindset, but we never compromise on compliance or clarity. If you enjoy distilling complex financial infrastructure into simple, elegant solutions that drive business growth rather than restricting it, you’ll feel at home here.

Location: Remote

The Role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our engineering team for Payment Gateway (web-first).

Both are hands-on positions for someone who cares deeply about product quality, user experience, and reliability in a regulated fintech environment. You will embed directly into your product team and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer-facing colleagues to define, execute, and improve test practices across your platform.

Mission
  • Ensure product releases meet high standards of quality, security, and compliance without slowing delivery cadence.

  • Act as the team's advocate for end-user experience and risk mitigation through rigorous manual testing and clear reporting.

What you'll actually do
  • Test Strategy & Planning: Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and checklists for web and mobile features, prioritising risk-based coverage and regulatory requirements.

  • Manual Testing Execution: Execute exploratory, functional, regression, and acceptance testing across different environments and devices. Reproduce, triage, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Product Managers, Developers, and Support to define acceptance criteria, participate in grooming sessions, and provide early quality feedback during discovery.

  • Release & Verification: Validate releases in staging and production (when required), perform smoke tests, and sign off on readiness for deployment according to release gates.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain test documentation, produce actionable bug reports, and communicate quality metrics and release risk to stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improving QA processes, introduce practical checklists, and collaborate with engineers to increase testability and automation coverage over time.

What you bring
  • Practical Experience: 5+ years in manual QA within web product teams, preferably in fintech or other regulated domains.

  • Testing Skills: Strong hands-on experience with exploratory, functional, regression, and acceptance testing. Comfortable creating and executing clear, reproducible test cases.

  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with APIs, basic backend concepts, and CI/CD practices enough to validate integrations and communicate effectively with engineers.

  • Tooling: Experience with bug-tracking and test-management tools (e.g., Jira). Basic knowledge of testing and browser devtools is required.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English and Russian. The ability to present findings concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Mindset: Detail-oriented, pragmatic, and collaborative. You prioritise risk and impact, and you are comfortable saying "not ready" when quality is at stake.

Key Success Metric (90 Days)
  • Defect Reduction: Clear reduction in production incidents related to areas you own and demonstrable improvements in pre-release defect detection.

  • Release Confidence: Consistent, timely sign-offs on releases with transparent risk assessment and minimal post-release hotfixes.

What we offer
  • Work fully remote as part of an agile, international team reshaping the future of finance.

  • Competitive salary range based on individual performance review.

  • Opportunities for career progression and professional development in a forward-thinking fintech environment.

  • Ownership: Join a transparent environment that rewards open dialogue and measures your success by the visible impact.

  • Mission-critical Engineering: Contribute your expertise to fintech products where transparency, security, and technical savvy are foundational.

If you are passionate about quality and want to help us build reliable, secure fintech experiences at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
