Job description

This is a remote position.

Remote (Canada-based preferred)

We are building a modern data platform that helps professional services organizations better understand and operate their businesses through intelligent, scalable technology. This role sits at the intersection of engineering leadership and hands-on technical contribution, focused on delivering high-impact data and analytics capabilities.

What you’ll be doing

You will lead a distributed engineering team responsible for designing and delivering a cloud-based data platform. This includes ownership of both people leadership and technical direction.

  • Lead, hire, and develop a team of engineers across multiple regions, fostering strong collaboration and accountability

  • Guide the architecture and development of scalable data systems, including pipelines, storage layers, and analytics tooling

  • Work closely with product leadership to align technical execution with evolving business priorities

  • Drive delivery planning, including sprint cycles, estimation, and release coordination

  • Oversee vendor relationships related to tooling, consulting, or external development support

  • Define and execute a forward-looking data strategy, including platform evolution and product integration

  • Contribute technically through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on problem solving when needed

  • Ensure high standards for security, performance, and reliability in collaboration with internal security teams

  • Establish and track engineering metrics tied to quality, velocity, and system reliability



Requirements

You are both a technical leader and an experienced people manager, comfortable operating in fast-moving environments.

  • 10+ years in software or data engineering roles, including 7+ years leading teams

  • Strong background in data architecture, data modeling, and large-scale data systems

  • Experience building or managing cloud-native platforms (AWS or Azure)

  • Deep familiarity with data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics ecosystems

  • Hands-on programming experience in modern development environments (object-oriented or functional languages)

  • Experience with distributed version control systems and collaborative development workflows

  • Knowledge of business intelligence architectures and data visualization tools

  • Exposure to platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or similar analytics stacks

  • Experience delivering SaaS products with strong scalability and performance requirements

Leadership profile

  • Clear communicator with strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Comfortable leading remote teams across time zones

  • Takes ownership and operates with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset

  • Experienced in Agile development environments

  • Able to influence stakeholders and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Nice to have

  • Cloud or data-related certifications (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, or similar)

  • Experience with real-time or near real-time data processing systems



Benefits

  • Base salary in the range of CAD $210,000–$220,000
