Position Summary 

Activate is seeking an Operations Intern to support the execution of the application and selection process for our next cohort of fellows. Working closely with the Pipeline team and Fellowship team members across Activate's five U.S. communities, this intern will help administer our application system, support applicants throughout the application process, and help organize data related to the Cohort 2027 selection process.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Operations Intern will help implement the Cohort 2027 fellow selection process by:

  • Supporting the team in external and internal communications with applicants, reviewers, and other stakeholders.
  • Organizing and analyzing information for the team related to the Activate fellow selection process.
  • Testing and troubleshooting the application portal to ensure a seamless experience for applicants.
  • Documenting the procedures and workflows of the selection process.
  • Drafting and organizing training materials for team members and external reviewers.
  • Monitoring and evaluating selection data using Activate’s systems and tools.

The Ideal Candidate… 

  • Has top-notch organizational skills and is highly detail-oriented.
  • Can multitask and manage several complex projects at once using project management software such as Asana.
  • Is comfortable with data management, including data visualization and analysis.
  • Is comfortable with data management systems and tools, such as Google Suite, Airtable, and/or Survey Monkey Apply.
  • Is a team player who is also able to accomplish tasks independently.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
  • Is interested in supporting scientists to bring their tech to market.

About the Role

This is a 40-hour per week paid internship running from August 1, 2026 - December 15, 2026 with a pay rate of $23.00/hour. The role is open to U.S.-based candidates, with a preference for those located in the Bay Area (CA), Boston (MA), New York (NY), or Houston (TX), though remote work is available.

This internship sits on the Pipeline team, reporting to the Fellowship Operations Associate, and will partner closely with the Recruitment and Fellowship teams.
