We are here to create great healthcare products. Thatβs at our very core, but itβs the people who make companies great, not the other way around. We spend more time with our co-workers than anyone else in our lives. Being part of an exceptional team is not only important for your personal mindfulness but key for your professional progression.
Weβre now looking for a Head of Engineering to own everything related to Platform & Data, supporting the next level of our Growth! Reporting directly to the BU CEO, your main goal is to coach the team, execute fast, set up the foundations and connect technology decisions to business outcomes. We need a hands-on leader and not a people's manager.
The ideal candidate has grown from software engineer to platform leader β through tech lead and engineering management β and brings experience from either a highly scalable environment or a regulated industry, ideally both. They have shipped platform work at pace, managed competing priorities without losing delivery discipline, and made architectural decisions they are still proud of years later.
They are hands-on enough to earn the respect of their team from day one, business-aware enough to translate infrastructure decisions into commercial impact, and mature enough to operate without close supervision. In a 125-person healthcare company pursuing MDR compliance and rapid product expansion, they need to understand what it means to move fast and stay compliant at the same time. A background that spans engineering depth, delivery ownership, and people leadership is the combination we are looking for.
The immediate focus is on getting the foundations right across several areas that are either blocking growth or accumulating risk.
Security & Compliance β Authentication, spam handling, and security fundamentals need to be addressed across all products, not selectively. We are also working toward MDR compliance, which requires risk assessments, audit controls, and documented processes to be in place. This is non-negotiable for our readiness in regulated healthcare markets. We also need to build a solid QMS in all our products. MDR class 2 requires really robust systems in place for us to get the certification.
Desktop Infrastructure β Near-term ownership and support of desktop environments across the organisation and slowly shutdown the current infra.
Billing & Subscriptions β Marketing and sales currently lack the tooling to run proper outreach, trials, and conversion flows. Standing up robust billing and subscription infrastructure is a direct growth enabler and a near-term priority.
API & Service Integrations β As we expand our product suite, integration capability becomes a core competency. This person owns the API strategy and third-party integration infrastructure. This includes the EDI service as well.
Monitoring & Observability - We need to have a robust cost effective solution here as well for us to balance between the business requirements and the technical stability of our product. This should include performance improvements etc on the bottlenecks of our system.
Production Data Strategy for Migration β One of our highest-risk areas is how we handle production data during and after migrations. Handling the data size and scaling the infrastructure as required i.e do we need to rearchitect our system or incremental path to growth.
Migration Tooling β Planning and building the migration tooling we need as our products evolve. I.e how should we import data into our product.
Cost Engineering β As we scale, infrastructure costs will grow. Without deliberate management, they will grow faster than revenue. This person builds a culture of cost awareness within engineering, maintains real-time visibility into spend across all products and environments, and provides 360-degree cost reporting to leadership β cost per product, cost per customer, and trends over time. Architectural decisions must account for cost implications at scale from the outset.
Mobile App Infra/Readiness - If we want to modernize ourselves, we need to have a mobile app/interface that works seamlessly with our users, so that it can be used both on the therapists side and also for the patients. Pocket CRM.
Infrastructure & Developer Experience β Our infrastructure across Unified Platform, AI, and BP is currently fragmented. Consolidating onto a unified AWS foundation is the first priority, so that engineering teams can launch services fast and iterate without waiting on infrastructure. Developer experience needs to improve materially β the current friction is costing us velocity.
Platform Architecture β The current unified platform model has limits we will hit as the portfolio matures. The right person plans ahead for a more modular, composable architecture that can support the pace of product growth without becoming a ceiling.
Data Platform Maturity β Internal data strategy spans both horizons. Near-term, the priority is getting clean, reliable data into the hands of product, support, and marketing. Longer-term, this evolves into a data platform that scales with the business and enables more sophisticated decision-making across every function.
Diarium β Diarium will need a significant upgrade at some point. This is not an immediate priority, but the right Head of Platform will carry it on their radar and plan proactively rather than reactively.
Beyond ownership of individual areas, this person is accountable for two things that are currently missing. First, building systems that are designed from the start to handle the pace of our product growth β making architectural decisions that buy us headroom rather than accumulating technical debt. Second, driving platform delivery with the same rigour we apply to product work β clear milestones, transparent prioritisation against product needs, and accountability for outcomes. Platform work must be sequenced in close alignment with product development, not in isolation from it.
The right person is a multiplier β someone who raises the performance of everyone around them. They set a high performance bar, give direct and timely feedback, and build a team culture where engineers grow fast and stay. They make others shine: delegating meaningfully and creating the conditions for their team to do their best work.
Attracting top talent is part of the mandate. This person should be the kind of leader strong engineers want to work for β building the team over time through their network and reputation, not just through job postings. Internally, they operate as a genuine peer to existing product and tech leaders β no translation required. They bring the kind of presence and credibility that makes cross-functional collaboration natural.
