ZAVA

Health, Sport, Wellness & Fitness

Founded in 2011, by David Meinertz and Amit Khutti, Zava was born from David’s personal experiences as a frustrated patient with an ongoing condition - high blood pressure. He found the current healthcare system to be both complex and time-consuming and wanted to find an easier and more convenient way for patients to receive treatment. Today, ZAVA exists to break down barriers to health - whether that’s a barrier relating to cost, access or information. We’re building healthcare that is accessible, dependable and a fraction of today’s cost. We’re currently one of the largest digital healthcare players in Europe, both in terms of patient numbers and markets. Since 2011, we have provided more than 6 million paid consultations and every month around 100,000 patients access Zava to seek advice, tests or treatment for a growing range of conditions. We’ve treated patients across the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Ireland. We’re building out our dedicated team of smart, genuinely nice, curious people so that we can significantly expand our medical and technical capabilities. We’ll be offering many new services for patients across Europe and launching into statutory healthcare systems in Germany, UK and France. We’re breaking new ground all the time, which means there’s no tried and tested way yet. So we want the triers and testers. People willing to push the boundaries, take responsibility for big ideas, and create opportunities for themselves. It’s an exciting time to join. If you want to be part of our journey, make an impact, grow with us and help us define and influence the future of digital healthcare check out our current vacancies now.

Job description

About ZAVA

We believe healthcare should be accessible, dependable and affordable for everyone. Now part of Hims & Hers Health, Inc., one of the fastest-growing digital health companies in the world, we’re entering an exciting new chapter as we expand our reach and accelerate our impact.

Our team of Doctors, Engineers, Patient Care Advisors, Pharmacists, Marketers, Product Managers, UX Designers, Commercial, and Operations Specialists work together to build digital healthcare that truly fits around our patients’ lives.

The pandemic changed how people access care, and we’ve led the way by providing over 14 million consultations across the UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Ireland. More patients than ever turn to us for help with weight loss and other conditions that can be safely treated online. We’re evolving our service to make care even more personal, supportive and effective.

We’re doing more than providing healthcare. We’re empowering people to take control of their health, and with Hims & Hers' support, we’re scaling our vision to become a global leader in digital healthcare.

About the role

We’re looking for a fully qualified, GMC-registered GP, based in the UK, with fluent German and English, to join our clinical team. You’ll have completed UK GP training and have the right to work in the UK. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering and shaping digital healthcare using technology to support patient care and contribute to ongoing clinical innovation. ZAVA operates as a remote-first organisation, giving you the flexibility to work in a way that suits you best.

What you'll own
  • Safe and regulated environment: Work within a fully regulated UK healthcare environment. The organisation has passed multiple regulatory inspections, including Care Quality Commission (CQC) review, which rated us as safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

  • Patient-focused approach: Providing high-quality care is central to the role. The organisation is committed to patient safety and satisfaction, reflected in consistently strong patient feedback (ZAVA UK – Trustpilot).

  • Collaborative, forward-thinking team: Reporting to the Clinical Lead for the UK, you will work alongside a diverse team of GMC-registered doctors. Collaboration across teams is key, including regular interaction with the Patient Care Team, Service Expansion, Product Development, Public Relations, Marketing, and IT.

  • Influence the future of healthcare: Beyond clinical responsibilities, you will help shape how we deliver care. You will contribute to expanding our clinical offerings, developing new services, and refining our digital healthcare platform.

  • Ongoing learning and development: Participate in a structured weekly training and teaching programme designed to support safe and effective digital healthcare practice.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Patient consultations: Clinically review and assess patient consultations via the asynchronous online platform. Respond to clinical messages and, where appropriate, prescribe medication or provide advice in line with ZAVA guidelines. Work closely with the Patient Care Team on a daily basis.

  • Service expansion: Support the Clinical Lead in developing and launching new services to meet patient needs.

  • Review and improvement of clinical practice: Collaborate with colleagues to update medical guidelines, maintain the highest clinical standards, and enhance the patient journey.
