Job description

Description

We are HALO! We connect people and brands to create unforgettable, meaningful, and lasting experiences that build brand engagement and loyalty for our over 60,000 clients globally. With over 2000 employees, 1,100 Account Executives and 40+ sales offices across the United States, HALO is a leader of our $25B industry.

We’re seeking a highly motivated and analytically rigorous Director, Strategic Finance to lead financial analysis and decision support for enterprise transformation initiatives and other high-priority investments. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, this role plays a critical role in ensuring FP&A is an effective partner for the broader organization as we execute against an exciting portfolio of transformational initiatives. As such, you will engage across the entire organization, including directly with Executive Team and its leaders, often on a cross-functional basis, to ensure business cases, financial models, and execution plans are aligned, actionable, and grounded in sound financial discipline.

This role will serve as a key leader within FP&A, overseeing the financial modeling, assumptions, and business logic associated with transformation initiatives across the company. This individual will also support investment governance for tech-enabled initiatives by helping ensure strategic priorities align with spend, expected returns, and broader value creation objectives. The position is ideal for a highly effective communicator and problem solver who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, influencing senior stakeholders, and translating complex dynamics into practical recommendations. While you must be adept at financial modeling, this role requires exceptional softer skills around gaining trust, framing issues, intellectual curiosity, welcoming dissent, and establishing consensus, so as to be an effective change agent.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance Leadership

  • Lead financial analysis and decision support for enterprise transformation initiatives and other strategic priorities.
  • Partner with the VP of FP&A and senior leaders to evaluate opportunities that drive growth, improve returns, and strengthen capital discipline.
  • Help ensure initiatives are supported by clear financial logic, realistic assumptions, and measurable performance expectations.

Financial Modeling and Business Case Ownership

  • Own the financial modeling, underlying assumptions, and business logic supporting transformation initiatives across the company; leveraging broader FP&A department SME support.
  • Build and maintain business cases, scenario analyses, sensitivity models, and reforecasting frameworks as initiatives evolve.
  • Assess risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs to support informed decision-making and timely course correction.
  • Translate operational plans into financially sound models that can be used to guide execution and measure impact.

Cross-Functional Partnership and Alignment

  • Act as a key finance partner to business leaders, operations partners, and FP&A subject matter experts to ensure broader thinking and action plans align with financial objectives.
  • Influence stakeholders across functions to align strategic priorities, implementation plans, and financial expectations.
  • Facilitate productive conversations across senior leadership by bringing structure, clarity, and analytical rigor to complex issues.
  • Support alignment between initiative owners and finance partners as assumptions change, risks emerge, or priorities shift.

Investment Governance for Tech-Enabled Initiatives

  • Partner closely with Technology leadership and finance stakeholders to support disciplined investment planning for tech-enabled initiatives.
  • Help ensure the broader technology roadmap is aligned with financial plans, expected business outcomes, and enterprise priorities.
  • Provide visibility into how spend is expected to flow across operating expense, capital investment, and non-recurring costs.
  • Support prioritization and financial evaluation of major investments by connecting roadmap decisions to business cases and expected returns.

Reporting, Insights, and Executive Communication

  • Provide clear, executive-ready reporting and insights on initiative performance, evolving assumptions, and financial implications.
  • Monitor actual results against plan and recommend actions to address gaps, risks, and emerging opportunities.
  • Distill complex financial and operational dynamics into concise recommendations that drive alignment and action.
  • Support senior leadership discussions with practical analysis, strong narrative framing, and thoughtful sensitivity analysis.

Team Leadership and Capability Building

  • Serve as a key leader within FP&A and Accounting, initially as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build and lead a small team as needs evolve.
  • Establish high standards for modeling rigor, analytical quality, and communication.
  • Create a culture of accountability, curiosity, partnership, and continuous improvement.
  • Help strengthen HALO’s strategic finance capabilities by elevating how the organization evaluates investments, tracks outcomes, and makes decisions.
Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

  • Exceptional financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, forecasting, and business case development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and cross-functional leaders on high-priority strategic and operational issues.
  • Strong business judgment and comfort working with broad assumptions, imperfect information, and evolving priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex topics in clear, practical terms.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Experience partnering on technology-related investments, enterprise initiatives, or cross-functional transformation efforts preferred.
