What You’ll Work On

The Demand Manager role will support the overall Demand and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the Abbott U.S. Workplace Toxicology. The role will be assisting the overall S&OP process by collecting, validating and summarizing the inputs coming from Commercial (Sales managers, Sales reps), Finance and Marketing, as well analyzing the demand submissions to identify any risk and opportunities. The role will be expected to take ownership and leadership of demand department. 

  • Manage the monthly S&OP process in collecting and reviewing forecast changes (volume and value, manufacturing sites, price, customer contracts, rebates), disconnects from RLBE, Channel KPIs, any ad hoc analysis and briefing senior management on key findings and topic of discussion
  • Demand analysis:   In depth review of forecast changes and trends, align with Sales leaders and Finance to identify any risk and opportunities to the latest forecast. Expected to help also with Ad-hoc analysis required to support management in any decision or questions
  • Manage relationship with Supply Chain for management of constrained lines and prioritization/allocation decisions, inclusive of monitoring of execution of allocation and communication to Sales on latest developments
  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities for the S&OP demand planning process.  Continuously identify opportunities for efficiency, growth and simplification.  Map current local S&OP processes and identify gaps and improvements' opportunities
  • Lead initiatives and projects linked to the S&OP, demand planning, and gross margin mix optimization, in both collecting and analyzing any data as well identifying areas of improvement and new processes and tools required to improve overall demand forecasting
  • Manage and lead end to end any ah-hoc projects related to Demand and inventory management, inclusive but not limited to SKU rationalization, Inventory level monitoring, identification of E&O reduction opportunities, process mapping and improvements opportunities, talent development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • 10 years of Forecasting and/or supply chain planning and management, financial experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Abbott experience working in an Abbott division at the country level is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of Demand Planning and Forecasting methodology as well as S&OP process
  • Experience with forecasting applications and project management software
  • Understanding of Supply Chain planning process and relationship with demand planning, commercial, finance and marketing
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and concisely communicate the business implications of forecasts and actual results. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and adaptability to different cultures and communication styles as this role interfaces across countries all over the world
  • Ability to visualize demand planning reporting and insights
  • The individual must be highly motivated and have a desire to innovate. The ability to work independently and proactively identify improvement opportunities is essential
  • Candidates should be able to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines and direct activities on several projects at one time.
  • Role Requires effective communication skills with all levels of management, inside and outside of finance
  • Candidate must possess strong PC/system skills; specifically Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

The base pay for this position is

$99,300.00 – $198,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
