About the Company

We are assisting an Australia-based funds management company established in 2016, with offices in Australia and an international presence, including Malaysia.

The successful candidate will be employed under the company's Malaysian entity and will be eligible for Malaysian statutory benefits (EPF, SOCSO, etc.).

This is a fully remote role, with occasional meetings or team bonding sessions when the Australian management team visits Malaysia.

About the Role

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be involved in developing and enhancing internal web applications and AI-powered solutions that support the company's business operations.

You'll be working as part of a small engineering team, contributing across frontend, backend, and AI integration while working closely with experienced developers.

Current projects include:

Labour hire and recruitment management platform
AI-powered wage and penalty rate interpretation
Business process digitisation and reporting solutions
Internal workflow automation

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain web applications using React (JavaScript/TypeScript)
Build and maintain backend services using ExpressJS and GraphQL
Design, develop, and integrate APIs and databases
Support AI integrations using Python, FastAPI, and Hugging Face
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance
Collaborate with developers and designers to implement new features
Stay up to date with modern web technologies and AI tools

Requirements

1–3 years of hands-on experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.js
Experience with Python, ExpressJS, and GraphQL
Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Understanding of RESTful APIs and basic web security concepts
Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
Able to work independently while collaborating within a small team
