The candidate shall be based in Denver CO to support ongoing projects in that location. Long term, the role will be a combination of local site presence in Denver CO, work from home, and travel to other project locations.

 

As an Engineering Project Management Principal Engineer, you'll provide engineering support to PBUS (PepsiCo Beverages United States) Supply Chain, by working on projects focused on capacity, new capability, process and packaging innovations, infrastructure and utilities work, value engineering/productivity as well as strategic and transformational initiatives. The individual in this position will provide capital project management and project oversight for major CAPEX approvals and executions at PBUS manufacturing locations. This position works closely with Operations, Plant Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Network Strategy, Planning, Warehouse, Global Procurement, Integration, R&D, Finance, and external suppliers and engineering integrators.

 

 

Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for driving standardization and PBUS’s strategic initiatives, owning project scope/ budget/ schedule and serving as a technical liaison to PBUS plants. As an Engineering Project Management Principal Engineer, you will:

  • Effectively manage and track project spending and report financials on a regular basis, with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Lead, develop and mentor people and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. Strong team-building skills required to manage and lead direct reports, cross-functional teams at a corporate and/or plant location, and 3rd party engineering partners.
  • Provide technical guidance during project scoping and execution, ensuring solutions meet project objectives and comply with PepsiCo standards.
  • Understand plant downtime systems and able to track project start up curves.
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist teams to solve operational issues.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $110,700 - $185,250.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e : Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Food Processing, Civil or Electrical Engineering).
  • 7-9 years of project engineering experience, with a focus on engineering project management.
  • Project management engineering experience, including individual CAPEX project expenditure of $1-3MM.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing plant operations.
  • Strong people leadership skills for future direct reports.
  • Experience with plant operations, packaging, processing, utilities, project management, as well as understanding of TPM and LSS processes.
  • Able to travel; individual can expect to travel up to 30-50% of the time to facilitate and manage multiple plant projects.
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New equipment specification, installation, and start-up, particularly for industrial process and utility systems such as batching, CIP, steam, refrigeration, compressed air, water and wastewater treatment.
  • Project Management/ PMP certification preferred.
  • CPG experience, preferably in a beverage facility.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Familiarity with basics of finance, product cost accounting and statistical process control.
  • Understanding of competitive industry technology available for food/beverage packaging, utilities and processing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influential leadership skills with an ability to negotiate with vendors, contractors and consultants as well as aligning with internal stakeholders.
  • Work well with cross functional leadership teams to properly communicate projects scope and deliverables.
  • Self-motivated, results and action oriented. Able to make independent and sound decisions.
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, CAD skills and ability to utilize MS Project and other project tracking software systems.
