Job description

Overview:

SRI International is looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team. This Buyer II role offers an exciting opportunity to support a mission-focused team while gaining exposure to multiple projects, stakeholders, and procurement activities. You will work with a diverse group of internal customers, technical teams, and suppliers in a fast-paced environment that encourages collaboration, problem-solving, and career growth. This role is remote within the U.S.

Responsibilities:
  • Creates and issues requests for quotes for services and materials in support of federal and commercial projects in accordance with internal policies and federal procurement requirements
  • Analyzes supplier quotations, selects strategic partners and manages internal customers
  • Assists in negotiating favorable pricing and terms and conditions
  • Prepares and places purchase orders using Ariba; use Costpoint to review supplier information
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance metrics of purchase orders
  • Organizes, maintains and updates purchase orders, information, systems and documentation. Tracks back-orders in Ariba
  • Assists in the implementation and communication of company procurement policies and procedures
  • Reviews and remediates Invoice Reconciliations
  • Must be able to prioritize work in a dynamic environment, shifting focus as needed to meet deadlines and organizational needs
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
Qualifications:
  • Requires 2-4 years of related buying experience with a bachelor’s degree. In lieu of degree, 6-8 years of buying experience may be considered.
  • Must be U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Experience with Federal (FAR/DFARS) procurement requirements, and accounting and receiving practices/procedures
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with ability to solve problems and effectively communicate with internal clients and external suppliers.
  • Must be able to follow the process for developing compliant files
  • Must be able to meet proposal, budget, and purchase order deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build collaborative relationships
  • SAP Ariba experience is a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate time management and organizational skills

The salary range is: $56,776-$85,000. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
