Job Summary:

The Finance Partner Senior will provide strategic and operational financial support for assigned business units and their respective leadership teams of Geisinger Health. This includes facilitating operating and capital forecasts, the long-range financial model, business plan financial models, monthly operating reviews, financial improvement initiatives, promotion of financial and operational benchmarking, and assures compliance with financial standards and procedures. This role provides leadership within the department by mentoring other Finance Partners and assisting to develop a high performing team. Additionally, this role will serve as a project manager to ensure goal achievement through collaboration and coordination with centralized finance teams and operational partners.

Job Duties:

Work from home with one day per week on-site in Danville PA.

Preferred experience: Pharmacy and/or Health Plan.

  • Facilitates the business units' targeted quarterly forecasting, capital forecasting and long-range financial model goals in partnership with operational leadership. 
  • Actively participates in the business units’ month-end financial close review and analysis process including understanding trends in volume, revenue, expenses, and balance sheet activity. 
  • Leads a monthly operating review process for the business unit including variance reporting and coordinates and supports development of remediation and corrective action plans with operations leadership for all material variances to plan. 
  • Provides regular presentations of financial performance to internal (operational leadership). 
  • Supports financial acumen education for business units’ operational teams. 
  • Leads implementation, education and communication of key financial management reporting tools such as monthly management, labor & non-labor productivity, and labor & non labor benchmarking reports. 
  • Leads and promote financial performance improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve overall financial performance. 
  • Works extensively with operational partners to analyze and understand business units’ financial performance and increase financial acumen. 
  • Works closely with the financial planning, strategic planning, operational leadership, and others in development of business plans and retrospective financial reviews of those plans for assigned business units. 
  • Supports the business units’ operational leadership with capital requests and prepares return on investment financial models to support these investments. 
  • Works with the Financial Planning and Financial Analytics Teams to improve and promote accurate Cost Accounting methodologies for RVU development, indirect expense allocations and other cost accounting drivers related to the business units. 
  • Collaborates with departments to appropriately optimize revenue performance and reporting. 
  • Supports and participates in promotion of OneGeisinger financial reporting that includes all business. 
  • Provides key insights including timelines, process, systems and deliverables to the Financial Planning and Financial Analytics departments to improve their services to the business units. 
  • Facilitates knowledge of changes in finance policies, guidelines, requirements, and rules and ensure communication and adoption by operational leadership to ensure appropriate internal controls. 
  • Participates in finance department improvement projects and initiatives, including information systems and analytical tools/models, design, set up, implementation and stabilization. 
  • Participates in special projects, reporting requirements, and committees as assigned to support finance and/or operational initiatives. 
  • Assists Region/Institute CFO, AVP and/or Director Finance Partnering with prioritizing and delegating workload, providing performance reviews and goal setting for direct reports assigned.  Promotes training, and development of business partnering team. 
  • Coordinates assigned project work and teams to ensure accurate and timely achievement of department goals. 
  • Mentors and leads other Finance Partners through help onboarding, training, and facilitating team development for high performance. 
  • Leads assigned project work and teams to ensure accurate and timely achievement of department goals. 
  • Supplements Financial Planning and Financial Analytics training of tools provided by these finance departments to the business units. 
  • Develops and maintains strong business partner relationships across the Geisinger enterprise. 
  • Actively seeks input from members of the management and finance teams when appropriate.
  • Supports colleagues throughout finance assuming positive intent and acting as an ambassador for all areas of finance when working with key stakeholders 
  • Collaborates with other leaders to promote the Finance Strategic Aspirations.
