This role contributes to driving customer success in the ASEAN region by delivering technical expertise across Ciena’s solutions portfolio. The position plays a critical role in shaping network architectures and advancing customer outcomes through strategic engagement across the sales cycle. Collaboration with cross-functional teams ensures alignment of technical solutions with customer and business objectives.

How you will make an impact:

  • Engage customers during pre-sales activities to align technical solutions with business and network requirements
  • Design architectural solutions for packet-optical and networking technologies across customer environments
  • Develop detailed solution designs, including RFx responses and solution costing
  • Deliver technical demonstrations, trials, and proof of concepts to validate solutions
  • Represent the primary technical interface for customers throughout the sales cycle
  • Collaborate with regional and global sales, technical, and partner teams to align on opportunity execution
  • Drive solution direction by evaluating and discussing technology alternatives to achieve optimal outcomes

The must haves:

  • Experience: 5+ years of telecommunications industry experience with a networking vendor or Tier 1 carrier
  • Demonstrated application of photonic and DWDM systems design, control plane technologies, OTN switching, and converged packet-optical networks
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to communicate technical and business concepts across executive, technical, and operational stakeholders
  • Ability to travel, estimated at 25%

Nice to haves:

  • Application of Ciena packet-optical switching, transport, and SDN/orchestration solutions
  • Working knowledge of ITU-T, IEEE, and MEF Ethernet standards and packet transport architectures
  • Ability to articulate next-generation packet technologies including OAM, tunneling, and packet-optical convergence concepts
  • Application of Layer 3 technologies including IP/MPLS and segment routing
  • Ability to collaborate across regional and global organizational structures
